Rockered shortened Superjet build

Wasn't going to make a build thread but I was scrolling through other build threads and @BruceSki commented that there aren't many true builds anymore, just AM hull assemblies. This ski will be for sale also. Would love to keep it but I'm just consolidating parts and hulls to free up some space and pay debt.
Anyways I'll have to check what year it is but I think it's a 2001. I chopped 4" off the back and reused the hull end sections and glassed from inside the hull to reinforce the sections to the hull then did the same on the outside. Doing this I was able to reuse the rideplate inserts using the SN bolt pattern. I've never been a fan of the angle cut method in the rear. Shorter skis gain handling benefits from the tray overhang. I also rockered the nose and made sure to blend everything very smooth rather than have a big overlap with possible air gaps between hull and nosepiece. This ski will be reinforced and include big custom footholds and wide tray mod with plenty of underpadding and big kick tail, carbon fiber CarterB front foothold, Tubbie 2s, a lowered WDK hood and lowered nosepiece with stainless ratchet strap, billet hood hooks, Blowsion lowered pole bracket, Xmetal aluminum pole with new carbon chinpad, ATP billet steering and 50mm RRP riser bars, 62t 701, Factory B pipe, Skat prop 10/18, scupper tube with versiplug max, etc. I'm getting close to completing the hull mods currently and it's looking like it'll be a killer setup!

Update:
Have the rear of the hull closed in and glassed from inside and the nose all layed up.

Filled gaps with thickened epoxy then ground the hull down on the outside to reinforce and blend to existing hull

Most blending and reinforcing is done, just needs minor finishing.

Cut the inserts out of the old nose then ground the bottom real thin and contoured to the new nose shape. Will glue down with thickened epoxy and lay more 17oz glass over it to tie it into the hull

Got the ski mocked up with OEM hood and nosepiece just to get a vision of the size and shapes of the hull . This thing is going to be a fun ski! Both surf and flatwater. Going to paint the bottom deck white and top deck will likely be white or a lighter blue, haven't decided yet.

Updated pics and progress: glassed on the waterbox inserts and finished all blending, mounted and blended Tubbie 2 s and tapered the front to match the rocker profile better then glassed and blended into hull. Reinforced the insides of the hull with 17oz biax as well

Ski is looking awesome, I can't wait to ride it! Unfortunately I still need to sell it when it's done though but I'll most definitely ride it for a bit. It's unbelievable how much time all the shaping and blending takes if you actually care about how well it looks when you're done. I keep getting reminded of the hour log @McDog kept on his SJ build

I'm really glad you did this, I would like to do a very similar build. Would you post updates in how it rides. Thanks

Really torn on paint layout now. Doing white bottom deck. Top deck was going to be white, blue, or orange. The lowered hood I got is visual carbon/Kevlar on the side with red weave. Not sure what to do now. I imagine I should leave the visual carbon/Kevlar to be seen?

It's hard to get clear pics, maybe I'll try in the daylight tomorrow. Any thoughts?

Cool build . I would do white top and bottom and have some graphics made to tie in the hood orange turf would look sweet too . Also if not to late I would widen the tray . Keep up the good work looks super clean

I do have orange turf that I was planning on turfing the rails with. I think I also have some orange pearl that I may throw in the clear. Probably tape off the hood and repaint the white portion of the hood to match the rest of the ski then pull the tape and clear the whole ski with the orange pearl including the visual carbon/Kevlar just to give it a hit of orange...
