Rockered shortened Superjet build

I do have orange turf that I was planning on turfing the rails with. I think I also have some orange pearl that I may throw in the clear. Probably tape off the hood and repaint the white portion of the hood to match the rest of the ski then pull the tape and clear the whole ski with the orange pearl including the visual carbon/Kevlar just to give it a hit of orange...
I like this plan, I think it'll look great!! I love the carbon kevlar.

Honestly I'm probably going to widen it BUT riding surf stance doesn't require a wide stance. Wide stance is for flatwater kicked into the footholds. I ran a surf strap on my Superfreak because the tray was too wide to ride surf stance using a rear foothold. Aquabot is wider than a SJ but not too wide to use the rear hold in surf stance which to me is great. So yeah... I'm probably going to widen it some but not anything crazy. The widest part of the tray should be behind the footholds IMO . Anything forward of the foothold doesn't matter as much. Your best balance is achieved when your weight is centered

Looks like a fun build! Carter was ripping it up on what looked like his modded SJ in Daytona.
Yeah his is very similar to this. Same nose, similar but bigger Tubbies, and he's about .75" shorter in the rear and has chine relief cuts in the rear, and dulled strakes. But essentially a very similar hull. A properly setup SJ can rival a lot of AM hulls out there still. Not all AM hulls are better than a SJ for surf or worth the money spent IMO

Subscribed. Looks great. Didn't get to say hi in Daytona but I did see you in the blue suit at the riders meeting before surf style when I was walking by. I did more riding than watching, walking, and talking this year.

I agree with this, BUT :), some AM hulls for surf are just too good to bother trying to replicate it with a RN hull. AM is always going to be more $$$ than modding a SJ, but some of the hulls are definitely worth it!

I ride an AM hull so yes I agree. Just saying not ALL AM hulls are better than a properly modded SJ. I think a lot of people don't realize that
