Haha okay. Hopefully I can handle it :p
I don't have enough resin to reinforce my hood even though I just bought another quart..I've used over a gallon of resin for this build. Biax takes alot. I dunno if anyplace local carries some..Maybe someplace has west systems. IDK.

Great...my hood is so freeken weak there's no way I'm riding without it reinforced lol..Or maybe I'll have to for the dells..Idk.

Alright I should be able to find some resin. @Dalton said someplace local might have some west systems in stock, so I might check that out if no other hull builders get back to me on some resin. Worst that happens is I ride at the dells without a liner and try not to pancake it..

Okay, so should I stick with the stock hood latch and add a ratchet strap? Or should I substitute the hood latch for the ratchet strap?

Latch and ratchet imo. I take it back I did find someone local who could get epoxy resin. An auto body shop said they could. Not sure on brand. Sure it would of been pricy as chit

Well marine places can get west systems usually, but it's at least 2x the price of us composites..

I don't think it's all that heavy. Considering the weight I saved removing the wet foam, grinding oem hoodliner and excess plexus the hood is a few pounds lighter even after reinforcing probs. Couple extra pounds shouldn't hurt. I do flatwater, but id rather not have it break either. It's gotta be able to withstand Lake Michigan surf and wake board boat wakes. Plus I already had some stress cracks..

I don't have another ski to ride. I turf and get everything other than engine in tomorrow. My flywheel bolt is freeken bent so I gotta get a new one.. I'm trying not to rush.

Rebuilt & assembled my blowsion steering setup with rrp risers and ODI vans lockon grips. Also tapped stock head for dual cooling. The new OEM yami head gasket I got was all messed up. The paper/cardboard material it came on got stuck all over the sticky part of the gasket and ruined it. So I've gotta get a new head gasket and a new flywheel bolt. Hope my dealer stocks both of them. I'm gonna rebuild/rejet the carb tomorrow too.
I'm gonna do a simple pad/turf job I believe..was gonna extend my holds out quite a bit with padding but after dryfitting some pad, it doesn't work out too well with these holds. Don't know if I have enough pad to make a small ring around my foot either. I've got half a sheet of 9mm pad and a full sheet of 26mm. Hoping I have enough to make a little kicktail. If something comes up and my ski isn't ready, I'll still drive up to the Dell's sunday morning to check it out..

Thanks man! Glad I got your chinpad haha. It's nice not having to grind anything with my riser bar setup since you already did it :)
The bars rub on the round front part of the pad that is closest to your body, but that's no big deal. Heat gun will bend it up enough to make it work.

Now I'm off to get the padding done, and officially start turfing. I figured out what I'm gonna do now and it's gonna turn out awesome!
Won't extend the footholds far like I was going to do, but my goal is to keep it sano.

My pad job is going to be harder than the turf, and much more time consuming. Even though it may look simple, there's actually some thought going into it and it's time consuming haha. i spend a ton of time dry fitting my templates and dry fitting the pad and making sure I have it setup so it lines up perfectly when it's time to adhere it with the contact cement.
On every edge of the pad, i took a dremel with the 120 grit sanding drum and quickly ran it across to bevel the edge and round off corners. This makes it lay nicely so the turf and other padding will fit nicely. 26mm pad is on the inside top, with just a little bit overlapped for the 9mm pad that's going on the top of the holds so that the edge of the hold is completely padded and blended, and if I have enough 9mm pad I will have that top piece stretched on top of the tray sides to give me some extra cushion. It's hard to tell in the pics, but the piece on the rear of the holds goes a little bit into the foothold as well. These footholds are gonna be so freeken comfy I'm excited!
Also, I installed the pole spring. It was super super easy with the pole off of the ski. Still working on finishing up the engine, but that should deff be done by tomorrow. Not sure I'm gonna be able to work on the hood before the dells, but worst comes to worst I'll run it without a hood liner and reinforcement. I'm gonna be riding it easy anyways since I'm breaking it in anyways though. Rather do it right the first time anyways!! I'll just have to have the bilge running a little more :p

Nice glad its working out! I think I had some small spacers that I was using with that to get the extra bit of clearance but I could be wrong.

Pad is looking good, keep it up.

Thanks for the Pics! I am starting to think I don't have enough foam... Going to have to make a trip to Walmart and get a closed cell sleep pad. =/
