to me freeriding is riding in the surf.
its a type of riding that is only done by an elite few of all the riders worldwide, it combines big air freestyle acrobatics and high intensity surfing.
so freestyle is part freeride, but freeride is NOT part of freestyle.
how bout we just ban all the lameo flatwater riders to pwct. easy fix.

Nice idea! Would there be a name for a style of riding that more closely follows modern surfing?The pro surfer's are now throwing air reverse's all the time , very common.We are in the dark ages as far as manuv's that flow with the wave in comparison.

I agree it is a nice idea with enormous merit. My fear (and I believe it is valid) based upon four years as a member on this website, is that the idea, if implemented, will cause more harm than good in the long run.

I believe it will serve its intended purpose well, yet I feel there is a greater problem to be wary of indeed. I can see where it will cause further dissent on the message board (more fighting…more cliques…flat water/surf…and we already have such, as well as with the types of skis preferred...). I believe it would cause the need for more moderators as well (the ones we have are already rather extended with their personal time as it is).

The writing is already on the wall regarding our 2-strokes. I personally would like to see the time left spent with much peace, for good memories.

:smlove2:...…I believe anyone living near the surf has to feel such; if he/she does not, I simply do not understand how he/she can turn a blind eye, but to each his/her own. I am not sure, but I believe we may have hit our first ride together (secret spot...mega people...great memory).

does any kind of riding need a label at all? Does it make people feel better to say, im going freeriding, or rec riding, or freestyleing? All I ever hear people say is, Im goin riding.

And this may sound stupid but who is jfb and why would we credit him with the term motosurf? That term has been being used for a very long time.

Oh and I ride in the surf, can I be an eliteist?
