This idea started last summer. I have always hated pole skis and only rode fixed steers. I have owned SJ's and FX1's with poles and never really liked them. Alex on here let me ride his FS2 for 15mins last summer and I instantly fell in love with it. Its very hard to describe but the stability and increased flickability are both just awesome. Did I mention the increased stabilty! If you get sloppy its almost like the hull is one step ahead of you to the point where recoveries are almost automatic. My test ride was only on flat, but I can just imagine with the nose rocker its got to resist pearling pretty nicely. And the -4" hull will make it killer fun. After that 15mins of riding I made the decision that I was definetly going to have a rickter.
My brother told me he wants to ride a pole ski too this season, so my xs771 roundy is getting the stock pole/hood put back on. BUT I AM NOT SELLING MY 24/7 FIXED STEER HOOD! Hanging on to that!
Early on in the planning stages, I decided this was going to be a "F:wave:CK IT build" meaning I was not going to cut any corners. Everything on the ski was going to be brand new. No used parts going on the ski.
The soucing starts:

The same day I test rode Alex's FS2, Gordon (FlashFX) let me spend 30min on his 865 FX1. And I knew immediately this was the motor I was going to build. (if you notice test riding other peoples expensive![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

load of money.) Then in November, I called XScream up and started them on building me a SS865 kit. I actually held the build up by not sending them parts on time, but now the motor componants are finished and going to Brian @ Thrust for assembly. Will be running the full 865 package, meaning XS modded 46 carbs / boyesen intake, and all the XS exhaust mods. Ordered a brand new BPIPE for the build and that should be here mid week to send down to XS for stinger mod and porting.
I have a nice clean pump with a TBM stuffer sitting around spare, but going with the all out theme of the build, I decided a new 144 setback mag pump from Jetmanic would suit the motor package much better. SKAT 14/19 C75 for the prop.
Wamiltons ez-pull trim system for the nozzle. Bored to 85.5mm.
Next talked to Carl @ Cold Fusion. I have all his goodies on my round nose, and decided that I would have ALL his parts on the rickter. Carl built me a fully assembled Cold Fusion midshaft ready to bolt up! His Rickter couplers, battery tray, hood hooks, fuel filler system, EBOX mount, billet mag cover, ect are ALL going on this ski. Carl absolutely rules and had everything to me in no time. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND COLD FUSION!!!
Every electrical part going on is brand new OEM. STATOR, STARTER, BENDIX. All brand new.
ONTO the hull. 615 Freeride (who are just incredible to deal with) shipped the hull last week. 2 days later it was here in NJ waiting to be picked up! Very happy the crate fit perfect in the Jetvan, I was nevious that with the backseat the crate would be too long. But I actually had 1/2 foot to spare. (glad I bought the extended van...lol) Here it is loaded up @ the shipping terminal by my house. Billet RRP pole, steering, and other hull stuff will be here soon.
615 Freeride packed it flawlessly! The ski did not shift a millimeter in transit. Great job.
Now I am getting pretty f:mischievous:cking excited!
This blew my mind. Rick Roy's rideplates are not only the nicest rideplates I have ever seen....They actually come in custom logo'd padded sleeves and are each individually serial numbered. With countersunken hardware included. VERY professional presentation!
The motor bay on the Rickters have come a long way in terms of finishing detail and quailty. Its completely reinforced from the factory. The anodized exhaust tube is just over the top...lol
Rickter looks happy in its new home. Much more to come! As soon as the motor is here the real build starts.
COME ON SPRING!!! :aargh4::aargh4::aargh4::aargh4:
