Don't want to try those either...I found that if I didn't use trim and went a bit easy it would nose in with very little impact. It's going to take lots of practice to learn the timing. Can't be much worse than flat landing a badass hull from big airs...
Here's the setup look including a swim noodle stash. View attachment 245648 View attachment 245649
Notice I'm a believer in the stock air line water trap to the tank, I've gotten water in before past the check valve and into the tank with just a hose only set up.
Thanks ! Yeah I have been spending a few bucks lately...Enjoy it while you can right ?Glad to see you finally pull some money out from under the mattress....
Looks good.
The swim noodle lays on the chamber and up against the edge of the head pipe...chamber doesn't get real hot I have my middle head pipe screw open a full turn. I have been running it like this 2 seasons no problems. Yeah Yamaha engineers designed that water trap for a reason and it works great imo.I run the Deka 9 also and it's all you need if you don't run into exceptional problems.I like that you kept this, I had some water in my tank last year and I was stuck on the beach (about 5 miles from the ramp) for a while disconnecting the fuel line and blowing air in the tank to push out the water. My etx9 barely had enough
Juice to get her running again.
Do you have that noodle really close to your pipe? I'd be nervous of a fire or at least melting the noodle into a puddle of goo. Just curious because I'd like to add a few like that to my boat.
Love the motor setup too!
