Super Jet Sj 1200

Im squeezing a 1200 triple into my 2002 SJ. I started this build about 4 weeks ago and have been updating build on pwctoday. My build goal is to have a OEM looking SJ when Im finished. Im going to post all the pictures up to this point. And then start with a day by day progress report. Please feel free to chime in with any ideas. Ive had many changes thru active mock up. Basically its a freelance learning experience. Ive relocated all structural mounts 3 inches forward with Gflex epoxy. Installed a 115 mm mid shaft. Retained stock battery, tank, and water box. Modified bed plates. 1/2 inch cooling. FX140 exhaust hose turning exhaust towards OEM water box. Using a combination of 2.5 inch aluminum tubing and OEM exhaust hoses to connect system. Motor is basically stock with 150 psi, riva cdi, air filters and taper bored carbs.

I like how you figured out how to use the OEM fuel tank. That is one of the sticking points of the 1100 superjets. Was the shorter midshaft an oem part from another model, or did you modify the superjet midshaft? Will the superjet waterbox and exhaust outlet be too restrictive for the 1100?

I can't take credit for the forward mount with gflex epoxy. I copied that idea from another ski. That crap is strong. The mid shaft is OEM SJ that's cut back and rethreaded to 115mm by Robin Haas. The waterbox will remain OEM SJ. The exhaust needed to be moved slightly on the carb side because the throttle linkages were rubbing. Other guys have used the OEM system and had no problems with back pressure or tuning. I am using the GP 1200 chamber.

Subscribed. I was looking for info on this but there are very few 1200 SJ out there and the build details are very limited. Please keep up the updates. Can you post a link to the PWC build thread here if it is more complete. Thanks.

Pwctoday.com. Under individual builds. "1200 Superjet"
I reviewed other builds and incorporated their ideas into my ski. So far it has been all time and labor. Lots of changes for fit and finish. Mock everything before you cut / glue. The expenses so far are the the donor ski and Motor. Some aluminum pipe, plate and machined mid shaft. Epoxy. And couplers I found on eBay. If you have any questions just ask.
