I had good results trimming the 4.5 inch opening to created a tighter radius turn . That allowed a clean install with no Interference from the bedplate, manifold or hull. I will post pics of the finished elbow.

Cut (2) 2.5 inch air vents for the demands of 1200 ccs. Holes will be covered with flow rite vents and modified dash. Lowered the exhaust tube angle to allow it to run along the bottom of the engine compartment. This gave me the room necessary to clear the carbs. Now I can run the reed cage spacer. Installed new tubing and exhaust elbows.

Stock exhaust pounded out and 2.5 inch holesaw for tunneling new channel 4 inches below OEM location.

Not happy with the exhaust transition. 
Looks like you might have more room if you run the hose closer to the bedplate underneath the manifold. You would need a hose that has slightly more length before the 90 to accomplish that.

I guess I should have waited for final assembly to trim the elbow. Lol. I have Gp1200 tubing I can use to extend the elbow. Ill give that a shot. Thanks

The clearance under the manifold is even less. The starter and cooling intake get in the way. I will use tight radius aluminum elbows and silicone reducers to make a clean strong transition. Running parallel to outside of manifold gives me 4 inches of clearance.

My goal is to keep ski as OEM looking as possible. I considered an inline resonator with water injection mounted in the left gunnell but want to use the original SJ components. I can always go that route if my design doesnt work.

This looks perfect. 5 inches in total width and 4 inches in diameter. Maybe 2 of them welded together with a twist to offset. Or just one and a piece of 6 ply 350 F turbo hose.

Ive done this in an 08 sj. I reduced the exhaust to the sj size straight after the fx140 hose. Had alot of tuning issues due to too much back pressure. A buddy did the same conversion and we altered his exhaust sizing all the way through the hull and it was awesome.
