Gold plated rope hoist? :wink:

Northern has them for $12.99 and that is on the high end of the pricing of most places.

Mine has steel rollers instead of nylon and has a built in brake so the ski won't slide back on you at any point. It's heavier but much safer. I've had the tote kick out before and the rope locked and held the ski from hitting the concrete.

here's some more pics of the setup; The tote slides under the bunks and then holds my fuel jugs;

I recently transferred everything over to my new rig and it's all holding up just fine.

The original plan was to build it out of aluminum but I ran out of time and threw the wood rack together for Daytona 2008. It's hard to justify spending $250 when $40 does the job.

Most bed liners, including mine, have built in shelves to support such items. If you look close at the underside picture, you can see where the end of the 4x4 is sitting on the lip. Some say it's not strong enough to support two ski's but it hasn't been an issue yet.

Not really a ski rack but just wanted to say that an 8' bed has plenty of room! Ski isnt even pushed up all the way. Just sitting on very thick rubber mat, that covers the 5th wheel brackets.

My Superjet and Blaster on my Titan.... I just use a winch tied to the utilitrack and a EZ load ramp.

i was going to do that same thing with a harbor freight winch but was not sure how to mount it without putting too many holes in my truck

Well, my trucks front bed rail got bent a bit from a snowblower some years ago. So I used some 2" box metal on the top of the rail, to straighten it and also be used as a brace for the winch. I've only used it twice… But it does work good when I need it. It could be cleaner for sure, but it works great and is solid.

I used a removable cable roller atached to the bed with a harber freight winch attached to a wood and pvc rack for a couple of years now . Held up well . Easy one person loading with bumper out of water .Hard on the thin chevy truck bed though . picked up a single folding atv , mower ramp at tractor supply and non swivel rubber wheel casters for a lighter ramp for next year . Been using pvc over galvanized pipe setup for loading , but is almost to long to haul . Plans to make a lightweight aluminum rack also using rollers for less friction on hull this spring .

made this out of (2) 2x6's and a cheap 12v electric winch. pulls the ski up right from the beach cart. I mounted the rear most support so that it falls in between the bed and tailgate.
