IMG_3520.JPG IMG_3521.JPG IMG_3522.JPG Feeling good right now! Ordered a midshaft a little while ago on eBay and it showed up and fits like it should!!! looks to be in decent shape too. Also found a guy selling a carb for a decent price so if that diet first carb I got does not work out I can have a back up or just use the new one I got, I'll look at is and see how it is inside soon. One of the first parts I ordered for my ski was a black throttle lever and was not sure if I wanted black or blue parts so I ordered a blue one too haha. I have a pipe showing up in the mail hopefully tomorrow that in going to hack up to make fit my ski.

Pipe came in, later down the road once my ski is done being glassed, painted and my motor and midshaft are it I will cut up the pipe. Pipe will be cut, chamber lengthened, outlet enlarged, input end made to for stock manifold or build a custom manifold.IMG_3534.JPG

IMG_3550.JPG IMG_3553.JPG IMG_3527.JPG IMG_3551.JPG IMG_3554.JPG 1.5 hours just to sand the one side of the bottom deck!! In the skis past life it has been repainted and has some filler so I had to sand 2 layers of paint, on layer of filler and the original paint off. As for under the tray in the very rear when someone originally defoames the ski and only took out about 1/3 of the foam they cut into the bottom deck so I fixed it up good from the inside. Also went around and added one more layer of 5200 to everywhere under the tray so I can have peace of mind for no leaks. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a few aluminum plates cut for under the tray and will start to shape it up. And yes I still need to trim the front bond rail, that will happen once it's fully beefed up.

Yeah it's crazy how much time I have in this. Did you add tubbies to your ski? That's why I sanded the bottom half in thinking of building my own tubbies right on to the ski. Also post a photo of your old square build, I have probably seen it once before I swear I have looked at any photo ever of sn superjets.

Got some aluminum plates cut on the cnc at work, sanded with 40 grit to give the epoxy something to hold onto. These plates will go inside the tray area where my foot holds will bolt up to add strength and stiffness. IMG_3565.JPG

IMG_3567.JPG Went down to install one plate this morning. I have the ski on it's side to do it in the flat position and will roll it tonight to do the other side once the resin cures. These plates will be sandwiched between the inner and outer portion of the tray for strength and to save time and money on glass supplies. Once the footholds are installed a few bolts will go through aswell to hold everything.

I would say add tubbies if you can. I glassed mine in and they are a huge improvement
Lots of work is an understatement!!

Awesome!!! Do you have more pics of those tubbies? That why I sanded the one side if the ski bottom deck I plan to add tubbies and want to build my own. Did you build those or buy them. More pics of that ski it looks good.

I did a copy of tubbies a buddy of mine had but wouldn't be too hard to make them out of expandable foam. I would say just make a cardboard mold and line the cardboard with plastic then the foam won't stick to the cardboard

IMG_3600.JPG IMG_3601.JPG 2 hours of sanding and it does not look like much. Just going around sanding any areas that need to be cleaned up before I foam and shape the tray for glass. Also great way to end the night when I get upstairs the wife lets me know the dog has been woofin her cookies and just had probably a 2lb chuck right on the stairs FFS.
