Super Jet SN build, Rocker, Chopped rear, this website made me do it!

IMG_3752.JPG IMG_3753.JPG 6 layers of 17oz and 2 layers of 5 oz over where the footholds will go should be enough. That area now has the 1/4" thick factory glass on the outside, 1/8" aluminum plate embedded in, and tonight's glass overtop it all. I plan on making adjustable holds and want them to never pull out.

IMG_3766.JPG IMG_3765.JPG IMG_3767.JPG All the local guys are off to the races this weekend I'm stuck and home with the itch to go jetskiing, but all I'm left with is the itch from working on my ski haha. Tonight I spent a hour and 45 minutes grinding, sanding, cutting the old glasswork underbthat hood that was done previously before I owned it. Not fun. Probably still a hour of going at it before I can glass in the hood. Hopefully Sunday I get to start on that.

IMG_3823.JPG IMG_3822.JPG Sand, lay glass, sand, lay glass... spent probably 5 hours grinding and sanding the from under the hood out and it's nearly ready for glass. Getting the tray close to thickness everywhere just need some more cloth from the store. So much sanding... also borrowed a D.A. Sander from work, wish I had that from the start.

IMG_1083.JPG IMG_1081.JPG IMG_1078.JPG IMG_1077.JPG Got down to the basement for about 45 mins this morning, did some sanding and used some epoxy mixed with microfibres to fill and small gaps that were around the edges of the hood cut outs. If I get time tonight I will get some glass on top of the hood later on tonight. Ski looks a bit more complete with those big holes covered in. Didn't get to work on the ski much this weekend as I was at the lake and spent lots of time on his surf boat, just staring at the big a$$ wake it makes, wishing my ski was done...

Been following this for a while and I'm going to repeat myself. I did this once and would never do it again. Soooo many man hours into this.

Looking like the light at the end of the tunnel is coming soon though

Bruce I hear you on the do
It once and not again haha it's a lot of work. I think my conditions for doing a build like this are about as bad as they could be, I'm just trying to do what I can. It's coming along very good just slow. Least ideal time to build a ski when you are expecting a baby/ just had a baby, I was unemployed for the first bit so money has been somewhat tight, don't have a garage so building in my basement, never done glassworks before, never riden or owned a superjet before, but all things considered it's going well. This ski might go a bit on hold as I might start building a garage soon though. If it goes on hold and I don't ride till next year that just means when I finally do have it done and ride it, it would be even more done up with head, pipe, maybe pole, etc... anyway I'm going to keep on keeping on this ski as much as I can. Going to work on it right now.
