Super Jet SN build, Rocker, Chopped rear, this website made me do it!

Ok so this morning I decided to cut the nose off again. I kept the hand pole mounting a area but cut it all off in front of that. Originally when I build and shaped the nose I did it bottom deck first then did the top deck after and making the two match up was not working or looking good. I have to many hours I to this to just settle on something, it's gotta be exactly how I want it. Anyway after 4 hours this morning I'm getting close and I'm happy with it now.IMG_1962.JPGIMG_1964.JPGIMG_1966.JPGIMG_1967.JPG

Looking good! If you are struggling with the compound radius on the bottom deck, small steel rods work well to make a skeleton. Easy to get symmetrical and if you don't like it, just adjust the placement. Easier than having to shape/reshape foam.

IMG_1996.JPG IMG_2011.JPG Hey guys thanks for the comments! I got some glass on and didn't want to post pics till got a bit further " sand the duck tape lines out from where my mold was" but here goes. I got the outside of the hull a bit better and now have to get to the inside and sand it and build up the glass thickness. Also got some more parts in, cylinder porting templates from yamanube and a lightened stock flywheel. Also I'm not going to get very detailed about how I did any of this work cause there are many forums here that give much better how to's than I can. More or less I'm just posting what I have done with pictures, if anyone has speceific questions I can try to help. Also thanks for the advise Nate but I think I got t now to where I'm happy after about the 3rd time haha.

Hey all, I have not had any updates in a while, had a bad man cold before Christmas for a few weeks and with the busy time of year it was so much one away from my ski I lost motivation. Anyway I got a few parts from one of the local guys and also picked up some motivation and I'm back at it. Placed my pump in just to see approximately how short this actually is. One my tray is built it will add about a inch or so in length.IMG_2630.JPGIMG_2632.JPG IMG_2631.JPG

I'm finally getting back into the swing of things on this ski trying to get working on it every chance I can again. Next up I need to build the splash guard/ front bond rail around the nose

Just made a rough temporary mold to make the bomdrail/ splash guard. Got some glass down and once it dries I'll sand it more to shape and then I'm almost ready to beef up the whole front and and be done with the nose. I need to order a exhaust mandral bent donut to weld up my exhaust through the hull and figure out what I'm doing for a scupper or hull drain and get attacking the rear end.IMG_2968.JPG

IMG_2998.JPG IMG_2997.JPG IMG_2996.JPG It seems life is been busy lately so I got to work on my ski when I have time and if it happens to be at midnight then so be it. Ground down the engine bay side stiffeners, sanded and layed down a few layers of glass overtop the recently filled bondrail. Just did the left side of the ski tonight and I'll get to the other soon, finished the night of with a nice cold corona.

IMG_3005.JPG IMG_3063.PNG IMG_3062.JPG Got the nose a little bit further along this week, just beefing it up and shaping the splash guard up. Also I finally ordered a stainless mandral bent exhaust donut so I can cut it up and weld my through hull exhaust and finally start on the tray. Also need to figure out my scupper situation. I want to do the Home Depot scupper but I'm wondering what exact valve or brand it is that you all are using for this? I also picked up a protec trim kit from a local guy for a price I could not refuse.

I have a "air time products" scupper valve. Works good, I can't say anything bad about it other that it leaks a little bit when it's just floating in the water ( which I've heard from multiple people that almost all scuppers leak)
