i mounted my cam on the chin of my helmet. i attached a lanyard to that and wrap the lanyard all the way around my upper shoulder. it does not get in the way of riding and i will not lose another cam to the ocean like my last oregon sci.

Yeah thats pretty much how I strap mine down on my helmet. On my ski I use military 550 cord and just tie it off to the hand pole bracket. My first time with my gopro I wasnt in the water 2 min and I broke the clip that holds in on without the 550 cord it would be gone for sure about 5 times over. I'm in for sending my footage in of the local area. Might be boring though in mid west ohio. I could hit the river when its up alittle.

How about a tether strap that loops around the helmet chinbar or chin strap? Simple and short enough to stay out of harms way.

Awesome idea Jett.... Make a couple simple guidelines for shots like; show the spot you put in, show the skis (hoods on and off), show the riders (include screen names), show whats unique about your riding group or location.

I think it would be pretty sick if the cam could get out to crews in other countries like china, england, brazil, australia to show the whole culture aspect of it and how it can be so different yet so much the same. I'm sure you could send it out to the guys at OZfreeride and get it back. What about Fab and his crew, they ride somewhere pretty exotic don't they? Maybe Dan and his those guys that does the shows over in china could take it for a week?

As far as the US goes I think it's pretty safe to say that atleast one person from every crew on here has a gopro.

I think it would be fine as long as it gets sent to known crews, not just some random guy on a forum nobody knows claiming he has this sick spot.

Darin and I are going to work together on this. Keep filming everyone....at the end of next season, I'll start collecting footage on DVDs or SD cards or whatever you guys get and edit up something cool.

I'll post it up in a bunch of places and make DVDs for whoever wants them... I plan to take my helmet cam to some crazy places next season!

Ya, you'd surely want a deposit, but I'd also go with a rental fee. Maybe $10. This will help cover loss/stolen/damage along with the deposit. If it stays running well and you get enough rental fees, buy another one. If something happens to #1, you always have #2, and if they both stay working, get them both to the big events for double coverage.

You must be psychic. When I was stickering it up I was thinking the same thing. Everyone that does some filming should slap a decal on it. The back has plenty of room left, there is only another X-H2O sticker on it, the rest of the case is space for rent. :bigok:

That is sweet! Everyone should add a sticker! I want to get footage from people who have their own camera's too....

Just make sure that when you send footage, you write in the name of the place, the names of the riders and describe each riders skis so that I can add names to the footage.
