I know I don't have a lamey in it or anything but I did rebuild it from the ground up and just thought it might be fun to put it in, but thats cool.

I don't think he has seen your boat. we do some carbon reinforcement and it would be killer. No concret guidelines are set........boats last year had a b-pipe's, cleaned up engine bay's and nice paint. You have all that stuff going for you.

do it man, if you built it...you can enter it!

but if you bought an 06 and put a bpipe in it..then no

i honestly think there should be 2 categories:

pro vs. average joe

Korn was robbed

I voted for him...

Can we get some kind of guidelines? I'm not asking for a rule book, but lets get something.

and thats what I disagreed with. SFLs and PartyBoy's boat to me had no buisness in the build off nor did the "leightweight" boat. All are great looking skis and i respect them but they werent built for that purpose for one.

and I believe its a BUILD OFF and not a JETSKI SHOW(aka car show) You dont see people in the biker build off buying new harleys slapping on paint and some parts and being done. It takes innovation, somethign diffrent. Not just mods or paint.

I also believe Korn had every right to be in. He had some cool little details going for him. CG Racing had modded SJ hull with a friggin polaris motor in it. I digged that.

should that be "i dug that?"

i agree with you though korns ski is awesome....

there should be two classes pro and ave joe are perfect, i as you know am putting my boat in it, its got some good stuff, and its not all bolt ons either but i surely cant compete with a boat that has a $20,000 budget. i put like a tenth of that in and i am still not done! whatever the case it should be a good time.

Thanks for the props, guys. I am truly humbled...:hail: :hail::hail: I thought I had a few unique ideas... however....WF's ski was the best ski in the buildoff, hands down!!

I was very, very, very, happy to receive the budget ski award!... and to see a few people actually using my ideas!!

I just am really stoked to come out and just watch everyone else sweat it out this year!! I am retired...

When I first heard of the "ski build off" I compaired it to the biker build off and how extreme they get. My boat does not even come close to those standards. I was not there last year, so I did not get to see the others. I am just going to ride and have a good time. you usually end up looking at everyones set up anyway, and getting pointers and tips that way. I would hate for this to turn into a grudge match.
It's all about the ride right. Looking forward to it.:Banane01:

The build off isn't some elitest your jetski is not worthy crap. I think its an opportunity for people to show off the builds they did over the winter no matter how radical. So the way you see it there were only three boats worthy of the build off last year:rolleyes: There were so many boats last year that were not even in the build off that should have been:biggthumpup: . These rides are all about hanging out, riding and showing your stuff off. I'm also sure that Steve, Dj or Chuck did not just build these boats to sit on a stand for an hour and compete for Bragging rights. They built these boats to be ridden

probably by the time it gets to the ride my ski will be all beat up looking....she will be pretty to start (hopefully) but i am sure after some hard riding it will start to take its toll.

It's never been anything like a grudge match. Ever. Looking at others skis has nothign to do witht he topic.

Yeah, I believe only 3 boats were worthy. Would anyone care to see a clean honda civic with alot of bolt on mods in a custom car build off against those who had been working with a 69 Camaro from the frame up?

Your taking thing I say and making them way more then they should be. I said nothing about these were built to do nothing but sit on stands. BUT! They were built for the build off. Steve sold last years build off boat to fund this one. Paul was gonna build a boat just for this one. DJ started building his boat just for this. Not that they wouldnt enjoy their finishe dproduct for themselves but they were built for a principle.

I believe you thinking of it as a Car Show where everyone shows off their ride and anyone just enters. I believe its a build off, where innovation, custom work, and detication come into play. What, you want to see 9 SJs up there....each one has a hood, x metal pole, and custom paint. They are all the same minus few details.

But it takes alot more to make a build off boat.

So how was DJ's boat any different than what you say? No offense DJ, I thought your build was great:biggthumpup: . This would not be like a car show. This would be people that did builds over the past winter. I've seen cars built ten years ago in car shows:rolleyes:. If what you say is true, then isn't Pauls buildoff boat just a reinforced hull with an X metal pole and a badass powerplant? C'mon there are different levels of innovation and budgets. Everybody has something to offer.

DJ, has alot of little touches and stuff done to his. Like the custom nuts and things like that.

Pauls boat has tons of carbon parts he made himself. Carbon scuppers, fuel pump holder, coupler cover, extremly detailed organized engine compartment.

C-mon man.........your my boy and all but I just can't back you up on this one.
I feel it should be limited to ski's that were built over the winter for this season. I mean, if not, how do you draw a line on what is accepted or not. The build off is for chits and giggles, bragging rights, and a way for peeps to see new innovative ideas and such. How can you draw a line and say what is accepted or not without prejudice. Yes, there are different budgets but I would say that's why there were different awards. It's all about a good time. I hope I see 10 build off skis this year. I like seeing everyone's individuality come out in there skis.
There are peeps that have put a lot of hard work into their skis this winter.........let's not knock them down saying there work doesn't constitute as being "worthy" of being in the build off.
