It's never been anything like a grudge match. Ever. Looking at others skis has nothign to do witht he topic.

Yeah, I believe only 3 boats were worthy. Would anyone care to see a clean honda civic with alot of bolt on mods in a custom car build off against those who had been working with a 69 Camaro from the frame up?

Your taking thing I say and making them way more then they should be. I said nothing about these were built to do nothing but sit on stands. BUT! They were built for the build off. Steve sold last years build off boat to fund this one. Paul was gonna build a boat just for this one. DJ started building his boat just for this. Not that they wouldnt enjoy their finishe dproduct for themselves but they were built for a principle.

I believe you thinking of it as a Car Show where everyone shows off their ride and anyone just enters. I believe its a build off, where innovation, custom work, and detication come into play. What, you want to see 9 SJs up there....each one has a hood, x metal pole, and custom paint. They are all the same minus few details.

But it takes alot more to make a build off boat.

isnt that the same judgementalist crap that your GF's parents give you? deciding whats worthwhile and whats not?

It'd be awesome if there were 30 build off boats..who cares if they just have "custom paint"........I still say pro vs. average joe

or if you rather:

the guys that make their money via jetskiing in one way or another

vs.

the guys that only get to work on their ski's after working their real job and on weekends

I've been too busy to post pictures and talk smack. I should finally finish paint prep tonight and get it to the painter tomorrow. I'll have a hair under 30 hours in paint prep alone. The superjet in my garage is starting to look a lot like the superjet in my head, which is kick ass. I've got many cool things yet to be revealed. All you suckers are going down

seriously though, who all is entering?

word.

hey jesse, isn't this steve's buildoff boat?:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190101159379

what do you mean when you said he sold it to fund this year's build?

i think if it was pro's vs joe's, both jesse's and idok's points would both be addressed. a superjet with a hoodkit, bpipe, and a pole shouldnt be competing against a custom hull.. but that goes back to pro's v joe's, doesnt it?

for example, i think if gdfl finishes his project, the joe's don't stand a chance.. however, how would gdfl's ski compare if WD brought a built rev1200? i dont think that'd be a fair fight.

just my .02

If? Failure is not an option. I WILL finish. I just won't get to do a couple of the more time consuming things that I wanted. I've got a simple power trim system ready to fab up and test, but I don't have the time or a lathe to make a couple parts.

i will be in there, rocking a kawasaki so that right there will set me apart from everyone else  . i have had mine on the water a few times, but i got a few bugs to work out (leaks:banghead: ) but i am just waiting on my skat prop and i cant put it all back together and i should be ready to go. once i get this thing tuned in it should scream:woot: . i got graphics from abe at northgraphics and they are just awesome cant say enough.....watch out boys cause here comes my kawi haha:Banane01: :Banane01:

well my kawi is back to running condition. i got out of work at midnight tonight worked on it till now 351AM and its still not completely done. but it frired rigt up and hopefully it wont leak..

My SX will not make it to the event,I was waiting on my income tax check to finish up the ski and get the business rolling smoothly again. The IRS has decided they like my money a lot and has graciously decided they would like to hold it for me for a while. So what that means is I am having to do double time on the business to get it up to snuff which leaves no time to complete the build.Hopefully they will release my money and stop holding it hostage soon.I still plan to attend and may still bring a ski but it won't be the sx I have been working on,on the bright side the business is kicking off like gangbusters and I am putting an azzload of couchriders back on the lake, isn't that wonderful news?
