If you need to book a campsite at Mckinney you can use www.reserveusa.com ( the site actually changed to a new name but i dont remember it, it will redirect you) They have maps of all the campsites...

Mckiney is a very nice HUGE campground but some of the sites have a large drop off to the water way. There is also a nice campground about a 3 minute ride away that most of is in a no wake zone it is called Old Hwy 41 #3.

Are Rednecks allowed in this campsite,do they have to be on a leash or stay inside a box? I forget to check on that when I booked the site.

A second backup campground is Red Top Mountain State Park - it's by far the nicest tent camping on the lake with tons of waterfront sites. The downside is that it's a couple miles from the event by water and even more than that by road.

Well, I plan on bringing my boat and the ski and the family. We will be looking into hotels. Missed last year and vowed not to miss this one. Do you guys think launching the boat at the alltoona ramp will work or should we look into the alternate ramps. I sent a few pm's out also. Can not wait..........

The ramp at the allatoona landind is a double wide concrete ramp, no worries there, it's also outside the gate of the campground, so if you are staying at a hotel, you will have easy access to the water.

I'll have a list of area hotels within the next week, sit tight on that one

awsome. I am sure the ramp at allatoona is ok I just woundered about traffic and parking. The ski is one thing, just throw it on a dolly and launch anywhere, but the boat and trailer kind of take up alot of room. I will hold off on the hotel. thanks
