I am down for either site,I will be more than happy to continue helping any way I can here if Lake Martin is chosen,if not I will see you in Ga.

as a kid we had a camper we left at alatoona landing for 6 summers in a row most of my summers as a young water skier was there . great memories and its got my vote.oh yeah and the 19th is my birthday

I would like it later in the year but I still don't see the DNR giving us a break.. I feel that they will look at it like we had the ride to spite them so they will be all over us as soon as the ski hits the water. The land might be private so we can drink and act stupid but once on the water watch out.

EDIT: I Vote for OUT OF GEORGIA

I'd say Allatoona simply because of the first couple sentences on their website:

With over 12,000 surface acres of water, Lake Allatoona is a haven for all watersports enthusiasts. Waterski, jetski, tuck into a secluded cove and fish for bass and crappy, or take a leisurely cruise and enjoy the peaceful scenery.

They're practically begging for everyone to show up.

promoters in both region 7 and 8 have a race the weekend of the 18th to the 20th.....

The region 7 race in Orange Beach is the weekend before. (Mothers day weekend) I have already worked this out with Mike Young. He hasn't updated his site yet or APBA's site. As for the NJ SSH Race? I couldn't help that one! :banghead: If it's a big conflict with those riders, now is the time to speak up!!

I'm pretty sure Lake Martin will be PWC friendly. Heck, the state park where we're talking about rents Seapoos.

Paul, are there any alternate dates for Lake Martin or is that the only one?

Thoses are the only dates that will work with either site.

The campground is PRIVATE...... and eager to host an event like this! They are allowing us to use the bandstand area along with the beach to set up whatever we need to make this ride go smoothly!:cheer:

I just wish that Lake Martin was available on the 19th also...... From what I understand - it would also be perfect for a freeride!!!

I have been using allatoona for years. There used to be this island called "jetski island" (it was really a peninsula) across from little river marina, where jetski's would run bouys in a cove, and you could pull your car right down to the beach. They chained off the entrance so people would have to pay to use the lake at the public ramp. but the moral of the story is, nobody ever got hassled by the DNR, they are really really cool guys even to standup riders.

And the area that we are riding at is large enough with multiple marina's around for cruisers. And just a short jetski ride away is allatoona's version of 'cocktail cove'

I dont know if this is the case at both places but I like the fact that Martin rents pontoons would be cool to maybe do a little fishin as well.

Unless we get the blessing of the DNR, or at least their word they will leave us alone, then I am not keen on Georgia.

I would have to vote for Alabama.
