Surfriding Steering Cables

I need a steering cable that will last me longer than 6 months. I've gone through countless SBT cables, the most recent one of which only lasted three months. I ride surf, but wash the ski after every ride, always use the steering stops, and protect the cable from abrasions. Does anyone have a lot of time on the Blowsion cable or is there another, better choice?

OEM cable or the Blowsion HD cable (preferably that one). I always got years out of OEM cables but found the ends too flimsy. The Blowsion cable fixed that. Lasts and is beefy. I think it's actually a Skat Trak cable.

Too bad the Octane cable had such little throw; it was much thicker than these super jet cables. So bite the bullet on a Blowsion?

I use the steering cables from the 2000ish gp 760 one my skis, it is a bit shorter than the sj cable but it works on my hull. The gp cable has the 6mm ends just like the heavyduty cables, so its kind of a budget heavyduty strring cable upgrade

2007 model year OEM has slightly beefier ends.... or buck-up for the the Blowsion.

i went with the oem 2007 cable end of last season, def more beefy. buttery smooth compared to the cheap aftermarket ones.i was going to pull the trigger on the blowsion, but this one been doing great for a while now.

blowsion heavy duty cable is awesome

if you are going oem get a 06 or 07 cable, the nozzle end was beefed up on those

I just broke an SBT cable last weekend also. Steering stops are utilized, no impacts with the sandbar, just riding waves last weekend and lost my steering. I assembled this hull in January so it didn't even last a year

Yep, I went through two of them.

Steering cables are like starters and bendixes: OEM only or you are wasting time and money. (Exception is the Skat/Blowsion cable)

Where the either rod crimps onto the cable.

We've gone through 3 aftermarket cables over the last years time, broken at the steering and on the nozzle end.
Blowsion for the next season.

I'd rather bite the bullet and pay the extra dough for the Blowsion at this point but I'm trying to save for a winter build project! Anyone try the Blowsion cable after many failed SBT cables and have better luck?

I was hard on steering cables and the Blowsion cable NEVER let me down. Excellent cable.

Never tried SBT as I was well aware that the cheap a/m cables are junk.

I prefer running stuff that won't break.

I paid $279 for that Blowsion cable a few years ago - they dropped the price sometime in the past 24 months. I still think it was worth it even at that price.
