Stop Shipping With The Courier Crooks!

I just want to bring a public service announcement out to everyone and promote awareness to the scam these criminal couriers are pulling. This is the deal I am going through now with FedEx, I bought me a used impeller, declared value of $99. FedEx screwed up the shipping document and held the package in their office the parcel came into. After a week going by I check into the tracking number and see a note saying shipping document error. How did they not see that right away? They're the shipping "experts" ...anyway, they don't contact anyone to mention it, I find it by checking on the status. So the seller goes in and gets it cleared up while giving them what for on the incompetence level. He also gets told there might be cross border customs fees. He tells them no, there are no fees on under $100 claimed value packages. THEY AGREE AND SAID YOU'RE RIGHT, THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL FEES AFTER THE INITIAL CHARGE!! Finally the parcel arrives and all is well. 2 weeks later I get a bill from them saying I owe an extra $56!!:mad: I already paid $28 for the shipping costs and all of a sudden 2 weeks after delivery they hand me this crap! I just found out they'll send it to a collections agency if I don't pay it. I got in touch with my seller whom is awesome, tell him and he says "yeah, they're trying to double bill me for the shipping too!" So they're trying to get a total of $56 usd for the initial shipping charge now instead of the quoted $28, and they're backing me into a corner for another $56 cad. So in cad at a rate of about 73% cad to usd exchange, plus the extra "surprise bill", to ship an impeller through FedEx over the U.S. border, for a total travel distance of about 200 miles, they are demanding a total of about $153?!!:mad::mad: Then I find that this is a regular thing these a-holes are doing, not just FedEx, UPS tried that on me years ago, I refused the package and left it with them, I also read DHL is doing it too. I did a quick search to see if this is a common thing and sure enough, I'm not the only one getting screwed by these criminals! To Anyone that is selling, PLEASE BOYCOTT THESE COURIERS!!! When cross border travel was a normal thing for me, I would buy in the northern part of NY state and come back in the same day. The border guards and customs office personnel said there is NO CHARGE for purchases under about $125 cad. My impeller at the time of purchase was exactly $125, FedEx is a scammer organization! Avoid them like the black death plague!

Yup, AVOID FedEx and their extortion tactics at all costs. They were the ones that screwed up the shipment the first time, and they returned it to me and still charged me for THEIR mistake. Now, may I add, the first time they accepted the shipment with all of the documents for international shipping included with the shipment, it went literally a few miles across town to their distribution center and right back to me and they still billed me for the full shipping cost because of THEIR mistake. Not only did they double charge me on the shipping charges, they put @Pro-pulsion through all of this nonsense of having to wait for the prop (and he was extremely patient and understanding) and then hit him with these fees that didn't even apply to his shipment. This is a textbook definition of extortion. Do NOT ship with FedEx!

I was shipping an pump to Torrent with FedEx last summer. I chose a method that would get it there in 3-4 business days. When I checked the tracking I was getting nothing. On the fifth day it said the pump finally departed the location where I dropped it off. I phoned them, furious that it hadn't even been picked up until after it was supposed to arrive. I demanded that they switch it to overnight shipping. They said there was nothing they could do. I had to setup a new shipment and pay for overnight. I ended up doing that. When I tried to get my partial refund for the overnight shipping, they said no. They weren't responsible. I tried to get a refund for the original shipping. No. They were not responsible. I was told that the FedEx drop off location is a separate business and not run by them. I need to try and get my money from them. Obviously that business wouldn't pay for my shipping. The money goes to FedEx. In the end I paid four times what the already expensive 3-4 day, cross border shipping would cost and it arrived in 7 business days with damage to the box. The biggest pain in all of this was that it would have taken me 2.5 hours to drive it there if the borders weren't closed.

Even the Grocery Stores are advertising Discounts at the Item Shelf but when the Cashier rings up the Groceries, the price is higher. Death by a Thousand Cuts.

My lady gets  every time we go to the grocery store... We get the same stuff usually, from the same store and frequently they up-charge sale items and act like its a "system error" but I asked last time "If we do this once a week and you know its an error, why haven't you made an effort to change it?" Thats when people like to talk in circles and shift the blame onto some other person who is never around. 15 years ago you could tactfully and politely "get your way" with just about anything, customer service was king. Nowadays, people are trained to read from a script and refuse to answer questions that are painfully obvious. Saying things like,"I don't know" and "Im not the one who handles that"

Cell providers throw in all sorts of charges that are hard to catch. It dawned on me one day, if they charge me a $1 fee for some usage or made up reason and I don't catch it then its just a dollar this month... But think about how many MILLIONS of customers that corporation has, so if they slide in a $1 ghost fee on those millions of customers each month then how many millions are they profiting EXTRA each month?? Not to mention annually!

Sounds more like the employees that handled the shipping did not know the procedures and limits when duties are applied.

These are some rough Times...

I've noticed a wide spread intentional set-up of Debt Traps and Bait & Switch tactics by Banks, Grocery Stores, Couriers, HOAs, Credit Cards, etc.

Some even do plain Theft like Xoom money transfer service which stole $100 bucks from me.

Academy Sports never gave me the $15 discount for applying for their Store Credit Card. Approved but no dice.

My HOA is giving me hell this year about my Lawn even though my Lawn Maintenance is the same as the previous 10 years. They are just trying to write-up "violations" so they can assess fines and make money. Talk about a Conflict of Interest.

Even the Grocery Stores are advertising Discounts at the Item Shelf but when the Cashier rings up the Groceries, the price is higher. Death by a Thousand Cuts.

Friend of mine rented a Car with a Promotional Discount Offer online. Bill came in higher. He had saved a Screen Shot of the Offer and thought it was a Slam Dunk. Company still refuses to accept the Price that they themselves offered!

What's in Your Wallet!!!!!
If you are going to the store and they are charging more than the sale price, you just have to show them the add. We use to coupon alot and learned that when you tell them "Hey, this is on sale I believe" They would always look it up and correct it without any incident. When there was a problem, usually it was because the sale ended the day before and "We" did not pay attention to the sale date.

Got my oil changed, invoice said $48. They ran my card for $59. I noticed and called them on the overcharge. They immediately threw $11 at me and would not look me in the eyes or apologize. Their body language told me this was no error, they were busted. Not going back

I was with a friend at Cabela's earlier this year. She was looking for some supplies for her bow and we came across and isle end display with some rather nice fillet knives. About 8 rows all labeled at something like $15. We grabbed a few, one for each of us and a couple as gifts. I took a pic because I didn't want any hassle over it at the cash. Sure enough, get to the cash and they rang up at $40 each. We said umm pardon??! I showed them the displayed photo and said what does this display say the price is? She looked long and hard at it and said, I don't know what's going with that but that's not their price. I said but you're advertising them as that so you legally have to honor it. 15 minutes of her asking other cashiers and like a chicken fight it was going nowhere fast, the line starts building up, my friend said you know what, forget it. She left everything and we walked out. She said normally I would fight them on that but the cashier was obviously new and inexperienced, nobody was nasty we all talked very politely with each other. My friend said I could tell she was not having a good day, I saw it too, so we agreed it was for her sake that we let it go so easily. Well, I guess I should go and pay a bill we, me and jpswift were told would never happen

Yup, get a manager up there, it could be a mistake, but if they also advertised it online or in the paper, then they have to sell it for the advertised amount. The person putting the stickers/signs up could have gotten the end caps mixxed up put the wrong prices on 2 end caps. It does happen.

This thread reminds me of a recent trip to Sherwin Williams, where they charged a 4% "supply chain fee" on every item I bought, but they didnt disclose that they did that. I was pretty heated about it, and now I'll just get my paint elsewhere.

If they aren't legally required to collect it, take them to court. Sue for damages. If enough people make them pay they'll stop. If they make more then they loose in court they'll keep doing it.

You don't have to pay any debt you didn't sign for.

You don't have to buy any item in any store.

"Nothing in life is free" is something all of you would benefit to learn.

Also the word irony. Because every single one of you has purchased items from a "vendor" under the guise they were doing you a service.

All I can do is laugh at everybody crying. Sorry

Xxxx robbed me. Did me dirty.

But xxxx is such a blessing to our sport, he only charged me double what it cost to get the same thing from mcmaster! Such a good guy.

Literally. How all of you sound. All the time

I have had this happen a lot lately where the price on the shelf is lower than the item rings up for. I just brushed it off as the price had been going up and they haven't updated the shelves. Every time I have called them out they adjust to the lower price no questions asked.
I would agree, I don't know how FedEx can come back after the fact and increase the fees when you paid upfront to what they required. Sounds illegal to me, if they undercharged that is on them.

We had a similar situation when we moved into our house and for the first year the electrical bills were always under $20 each month but we paid them in full and on time. Then after about 18 months the electric company sends us a bill for $2,000. My wife calls and they said our meter was broken and we owed the $2k. She asked them why the kept sending bills and how they came up with the rate, they said that it was just the estimated base rate...ok, she then asks how they came up with the new rate then, they say it is based on the last two months since they fixed the meter...ok, how long has the meter been broken she asks... we don't exactly know they state but at least a year. So my wife asks to speak to a supervisor..... She tells the supervisor... so you knew the meter was broken and didn't fix it for a year, yes ma'am.... you really have no way of determining how much electricity was used when you knew the meter was broken or if we used any at all.... No ma'am....... and you sent a bill every month and we paid it on time every month... yes ma'am. So we are done here and are not paying a penny more... yes ma'am, I will update your account to reflect a balance of zero. She's a keeper.

Ohhh I'm gonna need her help soon I think. Internet has been under charging me by a lot. Called them, they said oops billing mistake. I didn't owe anything but they would fix it. 6 months later and they are still under charging me the same amount lol

You did your part lol...you called it in and they failed to correct it, you don't control the billing you just pay for the service. The meter situation applies here too lol, they know about the issue and they aren't doing anything about it, not your concern dude :D

USPS isn’t much better . Bought a set of full specs from a member on here in may . Month later filed a lost package request . Get the carbs after about two months but usps still sending me updates they were trying to find them . Then yesterday just sent me a update that they were done looking for them . Guess it’s a good thing they actually showed up . 91BBD115-2DC5-44FE-8DA0-54C42AEB2D24.png
