Custom/Hybrid Superfreak Review - Ride, Buying Experience, Quality

Does anyone have a fiberglass freak? and if so how does it compare to the carbon?
Is 20lbs really worth the extra $4000?

I'm looking at getting a hull for next season an my budget is between $4500-$7000, anything more is just too much for a hull.
Right now im trying to decide between a glass freak, carbon or glass vision, carbon or glass gen 2 bob

Dangerboy has one. The Northwest is getting 2 of them early next year. One of them going to Crab.

Is it worth it? That's subjective. You want all you can get for a flatwater boat. The weight reduction going from my SJ to a carbon Freak was HUGE and HUGELY noticeable.
If you can swing it, go for carbon no matter which hull you buy.
If you don't, you'll probably keep wondering "what if" and keep wishing you'd spent the extra money when you bought the hull.

A huge part of that depends on if you ride surf or flat water. I rode Lucas' -1.25 glass in Pismo this year so I could compare that directly to my carbon -1.25. I was afraid I was going to like his better in the surf with a little extra weight. I actually like how mine feels better on the wave and doing re-entries. However, if you ride mainly surf I can't see where it would really be a big deal. Glass would probably be the way to go. If you ride 50% flat water, and want to do flat water flips, by all means get the carbon.

Make sure you are talking to Tem as I don't know if all of the pricing on his web site is up to date.

i love my glass freak. However I never ever ride anythin other than surf , and I specificaly built the ski
for big surf.
I rode a carbon , short freak in the surf and it was great fun.
If you are going for a multi purpose ski than the short carbon freak is the ticket

Silly question. Have you guys made any stand mods for the garage and trailer, or truck? Is it 12.5" or no? Mainly curious about the rocker on stands. I'll make something for sure. Trying to not put all the weight on one spot of the hull, when on a stand, or hauling.
