Custom/Hybrid Superfreak Review - Ride, Buying Experience, Quality

Wasn't someone spouting off about not having kids and thus being able to spend more time on their build?

Ha.....well, sure would have thought the guy with no wife and no kids would have been on the water by now wouldn't ya. However, I didn't have other people doing all the work for me.... :)

Haha, so what has Buckwild contributed to the build anyways?
  • Beer
  • Hours and hours of sanding underpad
  • Beer
  • Angst
  • Easter eggs
  • ....................?

Just as a testament to how easy this ski is to ride: I had a rider on it today that has never before been on a standup. Within two minutes he was standing up and cruising around pretty comfortably.
Turning was still an issue, but I was impressed how well he did on it.

i have had the same thing, i have let "good" riders try my short hull and not be able to ride it, like not ride it at all???? wtf? and then a noob try a ski for his first time and yeah he went swimming, but he was standing and riding quite well. i think having a fast responding ski helps noobs but people that have been on a slow slug of a standup for years have a tough time switching.

sticks and stones may break my bones, but last weekend I was riding! Besides as anyone will agree providing the beer is THE most important part of any build

I have a little electrical issue from some connectors I think are bad, but that's easy enough to run through. Last weekend I found out a few things that need to be changed around because of my arm, but all in all a great weekend with an AWESOME ski! I can't wait to get a good ride on it this weekend in water that's more than 3 feet deep, it has been backflipped by Dave, congratulations on your first ever, and the first ever successfully completed on the ski!

What's going on with your electrical? Nothing on my stuff I hope, If so I will warranty everything. If not, What can I do to help? I have the new connectors to replace any corroded or failed connectors in the start/stop harness.

No not at all, your stuff it top notch, I got some wuerth quick disconnects for my stator, bullet connector style and they are worthless, I don't think my stator connections are there for the ground to my ebox. I don't think my battery was not charging all weekend leading to issues with dead batteries, I think I am going to put a weather pack connector on all the wires for that and for the start/stop.it's easy and completely self inflicted.

You should have asked and I would have sent a bunch of the waterproof bullet connectors I use. Let me know if you want some and I'll drop em in the mail tomorrow. The season has started and now is not the time to waste sitting on the beach.

I'll take some if you don't mind, let me know what you need for them, what's the best kind of crimper for those style connectors, should I solder them also?

They work pretty good without soldering so that's not such a big deal but only if you have the proper crimpers. You can still do a good job with normal crimpers if you work at it. (I'll toss in a few extra for practice.) Paypal me $5 and we'll be good.
