Just pulled apart an old ebox from a stock 650 ski to mod the cdi, but when I pulled out the cdi I noticed it was already modded by protec. Score! Lol. Anyone know which way to turn the dial for the most revs?

Thaat's braptaastic!
More like does anyone know which two solder points to connect to mod it? I need to mod one right now... And looking back at page one on this thread from years ago, there's two sets of pictures from two different people and they show different solder points... I'm confused

Or just send it to me and I will mod it for you and you will save about $70 of what you will pay the big shops. Send me a working CDI and $55 and I will send you back a modded adjustable rev limit CDI.
hi i have a 94 waverunner3 701 would like you to do the cdi revlimiter just make it wide open

Before and after pics. Rev-limiter removed with no side effects. The stock porting is rev-limiter enough.

Guess I should add that bottom end condition is really what determines an over-rev. And of course common sense. When I jump I don't hold the throttle pinned. I also have a blueprinted, trued, tig welded crank and all new bearings. Mine can't overspin if I wanted it to. Buy even holding it pinned in rough water I usually don't even rev 8k. I would have to be pinned mid-air to break that.

It is about as easy to install a 60 ohm resistor and have an effective rev limiter. Without one it will occasionally over rev and every time it does bearings will skid and loads will spike. It all adds up to shorter crank life.

They won't go to 9k. Not even out of water. At least my buddies 61x with cheater pipe in his sj won't. He clears it out full throttle for like 10 seconds after every ride. No rev limiter. Doesn't bounceloke a rev limit either, just hits a point it has no more. I never understood people wanting another 3-400 rpm so bad. Your timing would have to be so got dam good for that to matter.

The reason for that extra rpm is not just for a number but so as your riding through the chop it doesnt bounce on the limiter and you get a smoother and easier ride.
plus the 6m6 one is very low

Wondering if anyone has run into this mod with a 6r7-00 cdi.

I presumed all 650 had the same cdi. Found out that I actualy have a 6r7 (?) cdi verses the 6m6.

The pins are slightly different.

I'm taking a shot in the dark on this one but anyone know if the pins I want to connect the pot to are the ones I've highlighted with a blue marker in the pictures?

Any help appreciated!!!
