Hi keefer! Did you cut off the 100K resistor ? I followed the instructions regards 50 resistors an trimpot, but cdi still limts at arond 7100.

@OCD Solutions. If I bridge to get the 8100 limit, would this work on a stock 6m6? Would it even be noticeable? And chances of blowing motor on WOT? My 13 yr old son rides this machine and holds it open all day over chop or jumps or anything he can find.

AFAIK, this mod works on all versions of the 6M6, 6R7, 61X and 62T CDI's.
The only noticeable difference will be that it doesn't hit the rev limit as soon, if it's even hitting it now.
Does the ski have the power to hit the rev limit now or just when the pump unloads? What's the setup?

If it's hitting it while loaded, you should prop it up some to load the motor and bring the RPM's down.
If it's just when out of the water, he needs to learn to control his throttle finger.

Leave it stock if its not cutting out on smooth water. This usually takes a ported cylinder and low pitched impeller.

Bone stock. And it only hits when he is jumping waves or porpoises (on purpose most times I think just to hear it rev out) Thank you. I am going to keep this part stock as well. At least until he has some better control over the throttle. He is eager to learn but likes to just ride.(on his knees just about as much as standing up) ‍♂️ Working on stance and carving right now. The first two days he had it all I heard on the lake was that annoying yin yin yin yin... yin yin yin yin. But it has gotten better. Leaning forward when at speeds helped a lot. Just not enough hours in the tray I guess. Already asking about that magical 701. I think all he heard when I talked about a swap was “more power and faster.” Thank you for the reply and all the work you and others have done to pave the way for us noobs to the superjet world.

The only thing that will be faster is your engine replacement schedule. Remember that load squares with speed.

Hello Guys i'm here new to this forum.

Just bought an superjet 650 and changed my prop to an yb-sc-b and nu i will add some RPM's.
So i read the hole Forum and it seems like you can put a parralel Resistor to the solder points and the value may not be below 60Ohms so if you have an 90k stock resistor you can use 320k resistor in parrelel to have 70 Ohms. so this would be your maximal RPM.

If you put a 1M Ohms trim pot in serie with the 320k resistor you will get 84 Ohms when you trim your pot at maximal ohm. That will be a litlle bit more than the stock RPM's but it looks like it would be safer to do this than removing the hole limitter.

I have ordered a couple trim pots en resistors to try this.

Correct me if i'm wrong please.

A 650 wont rev very high, difficult to get much over 6500 without porting. You can replace the 90 ohm resistor with an 80 and seal it up. I did some testing and posted the results somewhere here many years ago, I forgot the details..

The trim pot and parallel resistors is my preferred method and gives you the best options for rev limiter.
