Superjet - Project RS *Build Complete (for now)*

Here's a good view that shows how the trim tube lines up.

More glass work for the trim.

And more foam shaping..... This time for extending the tray.

Awesome work, looks great. However, you did all that work and those footholds do not have a ton of room for padding.. I would highly recommend chopping them up more. It shouldn't take too much time and the end result will be very worth it.

You probably already were planning on doing this, but if not, you will need to use something other than just the cable gripper for the trim cable. The gripper will seal it good though, just won't be enough to hold it back from the pump thrust. Looks like you're doing a cheap setup with the OEM trim ring, which you can use a bike-brake style cable for cheap if you'd like. I broke a couple figuring out the best way to secure the end of the cable to the ring arm, but after that it was perfect. Plus, it's only about 12$ per cable. If you choose to use a stainless brake cable, just secure it on the reduction nozzle with the same concept of how it's secured on the lever on the bars. Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks guys!

There are plans for a lot of padding. Maybe the pictures don't show it, but there's a lot of room. My shoes are very loose in those footholds. They had a bit of padding before I chopped up the ski and they were too loose as it was, so I think it'll be just right with more padding. Thanks for the concern though, I appreciate it.

Thanks for the advice, Roseand!! :)

My ski came with a kart tank, and I was tired of constantly filling it. So I decided to buy an OEM tank with internal fill from @BruceSki. Great seller by the way! In fact, he's such a good salesman, I somehow also ended up with a Hooker 10/16 from him! Haha!

Another great person to deal with is @Cole__kelly, he sold me some Rhaas motor mounts.

And then, shoutout to @yamanube for his porting templates! If you're interested, go here. I'm not going to bother explaining the process too much, since that's been covered before on this forum (also, there's a good thread on porting here). I kept it simple, just did the cylinders. Decided to stay away from the case for the time being.

Of course, my Craftsman rotary tool quit on me halfway through the port job... Thankfully, a good cleaning brought her back to life.

Here's the end result for the exhaust port. Took much longer than I expected.

Now for the easy part....

DSC_0931_zps58cjlzvi.jpg

Gave her a honing afterwards, and then started reassembling the motor.

In regards to the hull, I decided I wanted to build up an edge for the turf to butt up against.

zDSC_0674_zpse5j6iboc.jpg

Cabosil/resin mix roughed in.

zDSC_0677_zpsnxbh3rcc.jpg

Stood the ski up to reinforce the inside of the nose area, as well as wrap some glass over the top edge of the tray.

zDSC_0945_zpstvqz997h.jpg

And that's where my update ends for now. Cheers everyone!

Thanks Jason! I did touch the leading edge of the boost port as well, just didn't snap a pic. Yours looks better than mine I think, maybe I should have gave it a little more love. But ya, I've been jumping back and forth between projects trying to get everything ready, so things have been pretty crazy around here. I'm definitely feeling the pressure (baby is due in about a month).

Thanks guys!

I picked up a stainless strainer from the dollar store. I then cut it up and used a resin/cabosil mix to make a screen for my scupper.

And then after a bunch of sanding/prepping, I painted the engine bay with Bilgekote.

DSC_0969_zps2rlleygj.jpg

Picked up some InterProtect 2000E, some thinner, and a cheap spray gun.

DSC_0973_zpspq8sorwz.jpg

I flipped the hull over and did a bunch more sanding/prepping, and then did some spraying.

DSC_0982_zpsbn1bk75u.jpg

After that, I gave it a coating of appliance epoxy and called her good!

DSC_0983_zpsicstemzk.jpg

I took the turf off the OEM chin pad that was on my ski, and did some more trimming to it.

DSC_0987_zpsopydwv1z.jpg

Covered it in underpad.

DSC_0990_zpsbobn2elk.jpg

And then dropped it off in the wife's craftroom with a roll of vinyl... Let's hope she finishes it for me! :p

DSC_0995_zps80jm0ei8.jpg

Lastly, just a pic for fun!

Thanks everyone! Nick, I'm juggling my time! Thankfully, my wife is very supportive of everything I have going on (there's much more than just the jetski).

Small update... Midshaft rebuild!

Big thanks to @JetManiac

Everything pulled apart. The bearing was in rough shape. This rebuild was long overdue.

DSC_0009_zpslp2re66b.jpg

Pressing in the new stuff.
