What kind of steering are you using? Is that a an old style (86-94) x2 UMI? You may have probles with it, as the mount area on those were flat, not 25-30deg.
How do the new style trinity X2's work w/o a hood liner??

pics of progress. filled it out with more foam as it was too long and skinny. got it shaped out for the most part. still have some work to do on the steering mount area and rear. will be skinning it with bondo next and continue shaping it up.

I can see where I want to go now for almost the entire hood. some things you dont have mapped out til you see how other things look when you get them done. i know that doesnt make any sense but it seems to me if I am rigid and just do what I think will be how I want it-it never looks good when finished. it works better to adjust your plan as it unfolds.

this is always the worst part because once you have a rought skin it looks so close to being finished. but it really needs to measured in every possible way to get it symmetrical and that means whole body lines have to shift (and that is no 15 minute task!) and then you are simultaneously smoothing it all out. I have had some autobody experts help and they just seem lost if its not a flat panel on a car. if there is no surrounding surface to work off of they cant seem to do much except make things smooth. and that means a waste of time and money when I measure and find the left ridge is half an inch lower and a quarter inch out from the right. so its just me chipping away at it. sorry it takes so long. I have no standups to ride right now and its killing me!
