Don...looks fantastic and super clean. What cylinder is that Xmetal head sitting on? The paint work looks fantastic and I can almost guarantee that pics don't do it justice. I want to ride that thing. When's the maiden voyage?

Why are you starving that motor with a single carb? That is so wrong. You lose.

That's what I was wondering .... I agree , Don you are disqualified . I consider a flat water freak with 800 plus cc's with one carb out of the breed standard. It's like a stud show dog with one nut. I know some say you only need one , but how many nuts do you have ? Exactly .... so why would you just cut off one nut because someone said it was enough. If I told you you could have one dollar or you could have two dollars what would say ? would you say .... No ... really one is plenty. Hell no , you would say two . How did this happen ? How were you so mislead ? It's not to late to make this right before Berky takes your hull back , before you are kicked off the board, before your wife leaves you .... For gods sake man get a dual mani and an extra carb. You don't even have to run fuel to it since one is .... Plenty...... At least you would not be disqualified .

Seriously , page 55 paragraph 3 sub section 4.5 revision 5.2 of the super jet competitive build manual clearly states that " any 800 plus cc boat must have no less than 2 functional carburetors . The number shall be two , and two shall be the number . nor shall the number be 3 or 4 , 5 is right out . The number being two and two being the number it shall be two. Hope this clears a few things up ... Everything else is top shelf as usual with your builds.

I love iPads and potty time.... My legs are numb.

Post 99, picture #5. I open that one first and thought it was Shane's ski. You've got the concrete floor, white wall in the background, random wood scraps, with the gray table saw on the left. None of the other pictures look it but that one looks exactly like Shane's shop.

l got some done on the freak this weekend.Been letting it set all week for the paint to harden up.And the wife and l are close to finishing the redo in the office. Now just molding and wood floor.Any floor guys on the X here??? l never have put down a wood floor.Today l screwed down the motor mounts, the clips for the straps on the gas tank, and waterbox.l aligned the pump and shoe and got them dead even.l shimmed the screw on the upper left (pic) of the shoe, that was all that it needed. The rear of the pump just needed a couple of medium thick shims (and don't ask cause l can't tell you what the exact thickness was! it worked ok) to make it get a good seal.5200 got applied and all cleaned up.And that was the second time today gettin nasty with the "white snot from hell".The pole brackets get some too! l just need to drill the marked spots to install the Tnuts for the pump.lnstalled the tow loop too. Most every hole was pre drilled prior to painting except for the pissers and bilge. So gonna be mostly rigging when she gets flipped back over.

Weight of hull:60 lbs Hood 9 lbs

Ok here we go.Two things that have been posted on "MY" freak (notice key word,MY freak!)One is length.Seems like all us guys have some issue with length.l quite frankly prefer long! lol And The other is the age old debate of one or two carbs.

First length.l already have a Rok hull that is several inches shorter. So tell me why l need two of the same thing? hello...Tem and l discussed this over several months and decided that the -2 was best for my purpose. This was not a quick decision.

Second is carb set up.l am the first to agree that two carbs are diffidently stronger in every way. My idea was to have a ski that would have an extended period of riding time but not lack much in the power dept. Most of my riding is on flat water. With the exception of several trips to the beach yearly. So if there was some way that this could be done,l wanted to try it.Again l have another xmetal motor that has duel 46's.if l ever feel like l don't have enough power,l can always flip the motors. So l contacted Chuck at xscream and told him this was the plan.He was not in total agreement on this issue but we forged ahead. The engine is a 62t/61x with all the special touches that Chuck can do.

So yesterday morning was the maiden voyage.Break in went well without any problems.Sunday afternoon l rode with a friend to run the rest of the gas out of the tank.l did not get to run the solas pump but had the stock 144 out of my rok with a 13/17 prop.Spent a little time adjusting the carb and got it close but l need to do more.l basically suck at tuning. But the ski rode extremely well and has some great pop even with the stock pump.l won't go into the handling of the freak cause we all know that they do well under all conditions. But l was amazed as to everything about her.lt should get the award for best ski all around!!! And Tem was there every step of the way to answer any questions. Thanks Tem.

l do want to thank everyone involved with this build for their help.Mostly Tem and Nancy,Chuck,Jetmaniac,JD (special fx) and to all the other suppliers!

Now let's see what the Georgia guy can do................................

glad to see other people were busting balls about one carb. sadly enough you're losing points for that b pipe. single carb+b pipe=granny ride :p congrats on a running ski don!

Yea several have given their opinions on the single Blake.Maybe Idok will give his .02 cents worth on running a single carb.l'm gonna run this set up for a while till l can make a decision.l want to get the solas pump back in it and then see what l have power wise before l do anything else.
