That escalated quickly....Backie Chan ski & questions

Quick backstory, bought my first ski (90 SN w/ 701) in March, lightly modded it with prop, intake, nozzle & got a crash course in jet ski mechanics fixing carb, replacing pole, new fuel lines, etc etc. Ran her in the surf, enjoyed the heck out of it, but knew within a month I wanted to upgrade and dumping $ into a SN wasn't the best choice. Pic attached.IMG_2512.JPG

After a couple months of looking on various places, I bought a backie chan with the following per owner:

all brand new with maybe 10 hours on it, hull only thing not new, 735 motor, 62t cases epoxied and finger ported, 61x top, stock lighten flywheel, exhaust manifold and head pipe have been bored out, mag 12 vein, hooker 10/15, Stock dual 38 mikuni carbs, 62t electronics, trim, worx201 type intake, 185 compression

Well....this thing is about night and day compared to my SN. Foot holds seem a little far back, but I am getting use to them. That nose rides high & she porpoises in an instant if not far enough forward. Below are some pictures. Any advice on making an upgrade to an AM hull like this? Just some ride time I imagine (on calm or flat water until I am comfortable in surf). Really pleased with how it handles, just getting use to her, literally have less than 2 hours riding (bought last weekend).

So a few questions:
1. How do I flush? Has duel pissers, so I can't just backflush through one, the other head gets hot pretty quick. I assume I can install a tee and a quick connect, but where? Pics attached.IMG_0293.JPGIMG_0003.JPG
2. Not that I am looking to upgrade because she is more than I can currently handle....but what would be my next upgrade? Carb I would assume is one engine mod left. Not sure if there are some handling items like sponsons or if guys out there are running a different set up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
3. Upkeep for a saltwater ski & general - I have switched to Yamalube (50:1), use 93 octane with Sta-Bil, rinse & flush every time with salt away, spray down with a lubricant afterwards (CRC or other marine lube), use dielectric grease in connections & terminals....think that's it. Any other suggestions?

Most everything I have learned has been through this site, this place is awesome.

Also, how do I deal with an angry wife? A Blaster maybe? lol

Don't mess with the carbs, they are plenty for that motor size. V-force reeds and msd enhancer are good upgrades.

On my friends chan, we cut the footholds bigger, so that your feet are a few inches more forward, made the ski ride more flat and handle better for all around riding, nose is still high enough to easily flip.

i have a flusher that plugs into both pissers and back flushes through the pump i would sell
Pics and price?

Awesome, thanks for info. I believe it has MSD enhancer, but not a zero loss system. Is that possible? I am not going to crack open e box if I don't have to to check. Has MSD connections to spark plugs if that's any indicator.

Should I contemplate reinforcing for surf?

I believe I got a flush tool for up to 3 pissers from thrust innovations that works great. also I would recommend a longer ride plate if you are riding in the surf. It will keep the nose down a bit and make it more stable. The short one that's on it is more for flatwater riding.

You plug boots have nothing to do with the CDI. You would have to open it to see what cdi. Just run it and have fun.

Reinforcement is good. Just depends if your landing your tricks and how high your going I'd you need it or not.

10-4, thanks! I have an extra ride plate, I believe the same size as the one that's on it. Is an extended one custom? Checked their site and didn't see anything. Maybe a KAW ride plate would work?

Yeah that's what I thought on the plug boots. Think I am probably not going high enough to need any reinforcing yet....maybe one day! Thanks

No they are custom ride plates. The new ones come crazy long and you cut down to suit your style of riding. I can get you one if you want. I have the pricing. I shipped your hull down to Florida.

Oh okay, yeah I would be interested in pricing, not sure if I am ready to pull trigger as I don't have enough ride time to know what I am doing yet haha. Any idea how old this hull is? Like 3rd or 4th owner now I believe.

I actually make a super solid chan ride plates, have two proto types out so far with great success. Hope to have final product ready to sale in a few months. Plate has shorter chins to help loosen up the rear of the ski, also way thicker then most chan plates.20161004_093156.jpg

You need to cut it down a bit. I usually have the outer edges extend 2.5 inches past the back of the hull then do the same rear shape as your short one

Thanks man. Just saw your profile pic in a magazine for Backie Chan! Nice!

Any wraps available or everything custom for them? Also, turfing the rails, just cut to fit and glue on, any advice?

Thanks,, we are shying away from full wraps and are going to go with decal kits like most of the other brands. I can get you pre cut rail turf kits that fit all skis including the backie.
