I wonder what covering uncured 5200 with epoxy would do? Hold it in place until it cured or somehow mess up the curing process?

So there you go. 5200 then thickened epoxy to hold it in place and the ski can be moved the next day without the 5200 running anywhere you don't want it.

Really like the exhaust. Was thinking about how to really clean up the inside of that elbow and came up with using a sanding flap drum. https://www.zoro.com/dewalt-flap-wh...MIoq7Zkbqe2gIV3rbACh1LUgwqEAQYBiABEgLC4vD_BwE
That is exactly what l used to sand the inside! Got a couple of them from the local fastenal. And a 10" extension to get the sander to reach. l had to cut about 3/16" of the flaps off to make it actually fit down the elbow. There are several areas l could not reach because of the carbon tube that comes through the bulkhead l left long.As soon as l place the engine down in the hull,l will cut some off and l should be able to reach in to finish sanding.

I'm not totally sold on covering the 5200 for at least 5 days @DAG. l just don't feel good about it curing right.l've got to mix up a little more thickened epoxy to finish the motor mount blocks tomorrow (5 days) and will cover the rest of the scupper and exhaust areas then.
Not saying you're wrong!

I'm with ya on that Don. No need to risk it if you don't have to. I just got that info from 3M. It "should" be fine. But the r&d guys can't possibly test for every scenario.

Done under the tray now.Got a little thickened epoxy around both ends of the scupper tube and the exit end of exhaust pipe.Sanded down the epoxy around the m/m blocks. They are ready for some carbon to finish them.Hopefully l can get my son to set the engine and midshaft down in the hull tomorrow so l can start setting up the inserts.
Now back to the turf job!

Yes, but l had to fill in better around the blocks. How many ounces/layers have you put over the blocks on your previous freak builds Shane?

My carbon badass kit already had the blocks glassed in.

I redid one on the glass titan I had but I honestly dont remember what i used. I always go for overkill though but you don't want to add too much height to the motor mount.

I used a couple layers of 12oz biax in the stunt hull.

lt has been suggested to add 4-5 layers of 5oz carbon (that's what l have on hand).l already have one layer down and that would add 20oz over.To me that is a lot of build up,but a belt sander would take some of that down. What do you think?

Leave it long, Keeps the exhaust spooge off the hull, minimal hull cleaning required!
