The Circus

Just cut off the bung on the pump half way up, then re tap the bung and your fitting will be moved in at least a 1/4 inch. If your threads hang into the stator on the elbow then trim off whatever protrudes. As mentioned above, a second 1/4” pipe tap cut off will allow you to bury the fitting deeper. If only a six vane pump usually you don’t hit vanes with the tap but on 12+ vanes it becomes more likely. Save your cut off taps, I use them all the time. Even adding dual cooling to factory pipe manifolds the short taps come in handy so you don’t hit inner jackets while tapping deep

Lots of great help and advise! Thanks. At this point l don't want to drill or cut anything yet.Flipping the stator section over may work. But because the intake hose was rubbing on the steering line,I put a fuel line over the rigid shaft part of the steering cable to keep the 1/2" water line from rubbing a hole through itself.Had to stop before reinstalling the pump because l ran out of oetiker ear clamps.McMaster came thru though.l ordered some 5/8" clamps yesterday and should have them tomorrow.
I did install the brap strap and prepped a area behind the midshaft to install a bilge pump.Sanded the tray and gunnels to start padding before turf. This week it's supposed to be 55-60 degrees for a few days.Might be able to get a little done between jobs this week.
I won't rule out cutting on the tap, just want to see if l can work around it at this point.

Go Don go!!

I think the tap you're looking for is called a short projection npt tap. :)

Been nice to be off work for a few days.l was able to finish the pump and ride plate fitment. The whole flip the pump over was ok,but it had several issues.Took the advise (thanks to all) and cut the bung down to a quarter of an inch. Then got a 1/4" tap to cut the threads down to the stainless liner. That gave me almost enough room for the ride plate to flush up to the hull.Ended up grinding the ride plate and it worked.
Ain't nothin' easy on a freak...:(

Spent most of the day working (and drinking, etc) on the engine bay.Got the engine in and aligned. All the hull hooks installed.Made a bracket to hold the fuel block and fit on top of the motor mount (on top of the bed plate so not to affect alignment).I had previously installed the CF ebox mounting bracket, but it was a touch low when l tried to bolt the ebox down. Not by much though.Looks like I'll just have to slot one hole to bring it up to make it fit better.I can finish that up today.
Today on the punch list is: pipe, waterbox, gas tank. The pipe fitting is gonna be a pita.Where the tubes come down thru the hull from the handlepole couldn't be in a worst place.Practically on top of the pipe. That will be a bit of a battle

Can you explain the water routing contraption? What is supposed to be the benefit?
sends even pressure throughout the motor. 2 - 1/2 lines feed it. And if one line comes loose there is still water going to all the inlets (providing bot hose from block to inlet). I had a line from pump get clogged at Hugo last summer, was able to limp back without overheating. Noticed lowered water pressure....

Finally got off my lazy ass and got back to working on the ski.Longest SF build ever..
Also, the fuel block (is there a different name for this part other then what l'm calling it?) has 2-1/2" water lines coming to it and 3/8" lines going out.Two to the exhaust manifold and one to the entry side of the waterbox that sprays into the exit side of the pipe.
First time l put the pipe in the hull it took about 20 min's trying to fit it in without scratching the crap out of it.Yesterday about 5 min.Definitely a technique to it.I glued the foam block down to the hull to support the pipe and figured out that the straps needed to secure the pipe down should  be attached to the front hull hooks before the pipe is in.Next step was to put the exhaust hose on the thru hull pipe going thru the bulkhead.Of course, the 2.50" carbon pipe l made was a bit more than the intended size,so after much wrestling the hose went on.l almost think l could run it with out a clamp (bitch!). Waterbox install was a breeze comparatively.Tightened all the T bolt clams and rechecked it all.Another thread on the X, @Jr. Explained the importance of using a wide clamp (such as a T bolt) to use on carbon pipes. It is very easy to over tighten without realizing the pipe is cracking and then you caused yourself an issue. Just lack putting in the gas tank, but need to go over everything to make sure it's all secure. Also,l have a limited slip gas tank block that needs to be glued down with 5200.Saving it for a little later.
Still a number of small things to do,but l don't go back to work until Wednesday.

I had to get away from the ski yesterday.but wasn't ready to sit down yet either.Decided to work on my Tacoma.I bought a Ram mount a while back for my phone,so decided to mount it.Also, had a wired mike that wasn't working.Had a new one to install at the same time. And of course, why not put some vinyl carbon over the dash pieces while you have the dash torn all to hell!

Got a lot done! Put pad on the bottom side of the holds and did some grinding on the foam.On a more serious note, when you want to shape the underpad, you don't have to make it perfect.Just get the correct angle on it.The turf is thick enough to cover any imperfections

Dam near close.. Got a lot of things done yesterday.Water lines and pissers done.Brap strap completed along with the front hood clamp from @TOBY .Attaches to the front hood and has a threaded knob and insert that glues under the area right behind the handlepole.Works on T1's but will also work on SF's.Limiting rope is installed.Using 5200 to glue down the gas tank block l bought when l got the @LimitedSlip7 gas tank. That block is a nice piece of carbon.Adjusted throttle cable.Used super glue to install the hood seal.Plugged up the battery yesterday and it actually turned over!

Down to turf now.Need to finish sanding some areas, but today it's supposed to be 55-60 degrees,so that works.

Probably won't be anymore pics till I'm done. Tic Toc..

A few friends have heard me say that my work this time of year is normally slow.Mostly Jan,Feb are those months and allows me time to do these builds. Not this year,it has been stupid busy.I'm even working a good part of the day Saturday. So it's gonna be close on time for a finish before Tona.
I ran out of turf on Sunday,so had to get ahold of @JetManiac (BIG thank you!) for more.As alway, fast delivery.l'll start back tonight cutting more pieces and then plan on gluing down late tomorrow.
