The Double Back Flip

Gill had so much momentum that when he nosed in... if he did not crack the bottom, he would of continued the rotation and rode out of that...

In regards to doing a double.. if I went for it... with that kind of height. I would definetly want to come in nose strait like that. to take much of the impact.

I say its a double if you ask me ! :Banane09:

I bet next time he does it, it will be in deeper water...

Its like double rolls... i call 1 3/4 a double... lol
and so do alot of others.:beerchug:

wtf is with you people? dont give me :):):):) for calling how i see it.
jetskiing is the only sport where you dont have to land the trick for it to be the trick.
gil just proved impossible, possible, but to most people that watch the video will think he came up 200* short.

That was huge, Respect Gil. As said above, this year the bar has been raised considerably, which I guess is good cos it gives all something to aim at..... you gotta have a goal in life!

Hy friends,

I was at Hossegor and jumpt the same wave 3 seconds before. After landing I looked to the right, because I knew that Gil will try it on this perfect wave.
To watch it from the sideview was perfect, he CRASHED 60 feet away from me and two seconds later the ski was floating upside down in the water, which I not call a landet double.
If we land a 1 3/4 Barrell Roll you are still with your feet in the tray and we can ride it out in a second. This makes it much better than a 1 3/4 Backloop.

Was Fujisawas first Flatwater Backy in Havasu realy a Backy when he was floating in the water upside down before he turned the ski arround and started to climb on it from behind?
Or was it Eric Malone who did the first Flatwater Backy at the WF a year later?

BUT GIL PROFED THAT IT IS P O S S I B L E !!!!

Congratulations Gil !

Marc

HUGE balls man.
I would say it is just a couple degrees short of verticle landing and I would consider it to be just a hair short.
However, like someone else said.....If I landed a 1 3/4 barrel roll I would say it was a double.

Nice work.

So how many have ever attempted the double backy?

Air Darren, Sucide Havel, and Gil are the only ones that come to my mind.

Seriously huge air. He was still peaking when he was already rotated once around.

and during this time what you think that roos do ?

And the guy that started this thread - damn fine attempt on less than ideal surf, to boot.
