to be fair it was the guys first five minutes on the thing...

stan- you also have to remember that most people's idea of good surfriding is probably a bit different than ours
if it was a good surf ski i think it would be ripping instantly.

tru, but the ski did nosedive alot more that i would have expected.

yamaslut, noone wants to spend 6k+ on a hull, especially for surf!

There are some who are land locked and usually ride fresh flatwater and travel to the surf a few times a year that will spend it. I'm not one, but some others can afford it.
It's easier to keep a ski nice when you don't ride surf all the time. imo

Id spend 6k in a heart beat if it was worth it. It has to be a value though.....if it rides like the future then count me in. Cant wait for some surf reviews.

I dont think there will be surf riders lined up for a 6k hull, but I still hope it turns out to be a good surf boat, when all the flat water pros start selling them off used they may end up in capable hands for a decent deal

Scott..maybe not even near that long, innovations are coming out left and right now,the boats that were top dog at WF last yr arent even the same as this yr,when you can buy one for 3 k they will start moving

$3k seems like wishful thinking brother.. Hell a RRP handlepole with all the steering, bars, brackets etc and what not is like $1600 alone

The old 96-2007 RN are dinosaurs anymore. They are too small, porpoise and handle like crap.

The New 08/09 Superjets, EMEs, Trinitys, Envys, & FS1s are the future. They are all different mixtures of what was best about the superjets and sxrs combined and then shortened & stuffed into a lightweight hull.

After riding Madmats Envy and the Trinity boat in Daytona, I KNOW there are wayyy better hulls out there than a stock pre 08 SJ or SXR.

I think dinosaur is a bit strong of a word and I don't know if I believe the 08 hull is actually better for freeriding. They may not be cutting edge but they are still very relevant.

I agree. I have heard that a couple of times in here. If anything they just became more relevant because it is an affordable option for someone getting in to a growing sport.

Get a sweet used beat up hull with all the goodies and refoam and repaint and nice used complete motor/electrics/pump and your in. Not for everyone but seems like more people are willing to take on big projects.

I for one could never let a roundie just die......ya know like tree lawn death!!! They have to be rebuilt!! They must live!!

I don't think I'm trippin....if Ross and Taylor and some others sold their RN and are rippin the new ones in the surf, I'm guessing they are better. ..(Although, RN are still great affordable boats!)...just saying the new ones are better. I don't see any pros riding stock RN hulls anymore.

they arnt better for small wave surfriding..period..when you are sponsored by yamaha you ride the new ones...everyone else followed like sheep without trying them and they dont suit allot of people's styles..they are a great ski but not for everything

I rode an 08 last weekend... it wouldn't turn and no slidey slide...
I will never switch to the 08...

I want a FS-1 though... well, I want to try one really bad and feel good about the possibilities.

Bingo. When your sponsored you ride what they gave you...... These guys are also out there for riding the big waves. They would be just as good on 07's as well.
