Got my truck back yesterday from getting the factory LSD replaced with a new Auburn LSD so I figured it was time to put some load on it.

The new ramp mods worked perfect and I finally got the ski tied down and tested out on the road.

Everything felt solid with no movement at all. Even better than I anticipated.

I was looking forward to riding today but apparently my engine had other plans.

Great day of surf and the initial test run went very well.

One of the remotes was acting up and I will need to modify my beach cart to make it take up less room under the deck but otherwise it was a flawless outing.

He still has it but he wanted to try out the Backie Chan he's been working on. I have to say, it's the first ski I have ever ridden that I didn't want to give back immediately.

Normally I just putter around and kill time while Scott gives my ski a run but I waved him off twice yesterday and would have kept it for the rest of the day.

He does! The last mod to the bond rails was the real winner he says.

He still wants more power out of that engine but it was perfect for the hull.

I still say a well built 760 is about as big as we really need in a surf ski.

That was my original design as well but I wanted a scaled down version that was 1/2 ton pickup friendly. It also allowed for a flip up design which is extremely handy.

Sitting on the bed rails limits the carrying capacity but it's still within the ratings of the truck so it's all good.

Well, I went and purchased a new truck with the 5'7" bed so I am looking for a new home for my ski deck just months after completing it and only using it twice. :(

I promised to build one for @Totaled before I changed jobs and ran out of spare time so he has first dibs on the original deck, (if it fits his GMC without too much modification).

I’ve been browsing craigslist looking for a temporary tonneau cover to use until I can get around to building another bed rack system and spotted this beauty on Craigslist for $150.

It was on a 2006 Ford F-150 but the dimensions were close enough that I knew I could make it work.

A couple hours and a few mods later, Voila!

It’s not built well enough to haul skis but it’s better built than any of the other options I was contemplating and a fraction of the price. It will support up to 100kg's, (220lbs) so it will still allow me to put some things on it if needed.

Made a couple mods this past weekend so the deck can fit on a GMC and waved goodbye to it this afternoon. It was bittersweet but I know it's gone to a good home.

@Totaled is now the proud owner of the one and only OCD Ski Hauler deck!

Whatcha think?
