Allow me to blow a hole right through this theory. The last two digits are model year and it is well known that the 3rd to last digit is production year. Sounds like you have a counterfeit 73 or a homebuilt VIN number. As proof of the syntax of the 1973 HIN numbers here are pictures of the TWO 1973's that I owned.

When I asked you who made the famous $10,000 offer on your dryer paperweight you "couldn't remember."

Your story has more holes than swiss cheese.

Aaron

uhm... Mr. swiss cheese, when did I make that particular comment? anytime I've ever been asked about it I answered the same thing, a guy from a museum had asked about the purchase. I stated I didn't remember the name of the museum, but he was a collector. you have any more words you'd like to speak for me?

Well, to continue this story till today....
My friend still has it and cant seem to part with it for any amount at this time. He thinks its only gonna be worth more in the future and it probably will be. So in the meanwhile he whores it out for show at races, historical museums, and other events.

UPDATE! Bringing this one back today, just because of Clayton Jacobson II memories.

My friend still has this ski and it made it into a couple PWC magazines too since then. He basically "rents" it out to functions, gatherings, races, or basically whoever wants to see it... lol

There were only around 500 made of these. Almost all the aluminum parts are sand cast except for the handle bars, its pretty amazing really. Also ALL the fiberglass parts are hand laid!

Yea I got 2 of those out of Henry's stash. One v hull and one regular. One was Bob pharis' and the other was a beater. Ty offered me ass wipe money for the stuff but I got a bunch of money out of that old crap. LBs ski is worth big money to the right collector. I'd find that guy and dump it if it was me. I also got that 1972 hippo handle pole that I sold for $4500 lol
