Chances are very good if it is(was) a legit FACTORY race ski, there will be no HIN.

Ok guys I have a few questions on this topic. I have a green, what I think is a 73, v-hull ski that I got from a guy for free that was sitting in his barn. The guy claims this ski came from Jupain and I cant find a HIN number anywhere on the ski. The guy had to get the Parks and Wildlife Department to make him a HIN number for this ski. The guy also said it was some kinda racing ski. I took the engine out and it has a big bore 440 in it, but the guy never said he changed the engine out on this ski.

So my question is, besides on the back of the hull, where else could this HIN number possable be? Also any ideas on what I might have. I know it is a early model because the ride plate only bolts onto the pump. Any one have any ideas?

This is my buddys Pezzys boat. 1974 400 in all original condition. His Father in law bought it new and it has been sitting forever. Pez got it fired up this summer and took it out a few times. Completely unrestored and still has 1974 CA registration and lake tags on it! Will look for a better pic later but heres this one for now.

This is freaking awesome, no doubt, but... Seadoo invented the first ever Jet Propelled (Personal Watercraft / PWC) it was a couche and It was in 1969 and had a belt drive from the engine to the pump!

This is way better though!

I was just posting about that article the other day! It was in a thread about some 440 found in a dealers warehouse never taken out of the crate... And I said some guy in Havasu got a ski and sold to some guy in nebraska, etc etc but I couldn't remember all the details.

Awesome freaking ski and story... How much did he get for it and who did he sell it to or as I recall acording to the article he never did sell it...

And guess who was involved with the R&D of the Seadoo.

Yup, Clayton Jacobson

the serial numbers from the one sitting on my dryer is 000034873.

if the last 4 numbers indicate day, month, and year, then I have the 3rd ski.

Great theory, but completely WRONG! There are 12 months, and at least 28 days per month. That would require both days AND months to have 2 digits each. You may however have the 348th built.

Did you even think about what you were writing?? Why would Kaw wait untill August to build the 1st ski for that season?? It's common knowledge that they were sold before then.
