Yes, that's part of it, but holy crap. Between the MRI and the surgery, I'll be eating Top Ramen for a while. And I used to giggle at the whole "Pet Insurance" thing....
I have been lucky enough to only take my dog to the vet 4 times in his life. He is 14 years old now.
-Neutered
-Note left on my door by animal control that he did not have current tags
-Attacked by a dire wolf (Told the vet if it cost more then 100$ to put him down and it only cost me 100$)
-Last year he had horrible stomach issues and couldn't even lay down without crying. Vet gave me some pain killers that also help with Nausea. cost me 300$ and they wanted another 1200$ for an ultra sound that may or may not help with anything.
Then he had some mouth issue and they quoted me 800$ to clean his teeth. I gave him an old pain killer and did it myself.

Bostons ftw! My boston is pushin 14 years old and has gone blind. Poor thing is screwed with me constantly moving projects around in the garage, she just has to bump her way thru.
