Just an update because I've been getting a bunch of PMs, and I can't thank you guys and gals enough for that. Tobey is doing fantastic. I'm not a religious person, and I understand the wonders of modern medicine, but this dog was basically paralyzed when I brought him to the hospital. When I picked him up the day after the surgery, I drove him home and gingerly lifted him out of my truck and oh so gently placed him on the ground. I turned to reach in my truck to get his harness (no more collars EVER for him) and he BOLTED down the road to my beach to snatch up a toy he had left there two weeks before when he was still semi-mobil, and brought it back to me to toss for him! So, yes, I can't rule out divine intervention.

He's back to killing ducks (Sorry @Ducky J. Trump) and taking names...(or maybe taking naps is more appropriate).

Got a free rc nitro car from a buddy who said it would not run. Got that fixed but needed a spur gear and a new remote. So 80 bucks into it I get to drive it. Ton of fun until I hit a tree. Break control arm, glue it up and back at it. Hit another tree( wot is hard to resist) and destroy control arm, pop off both tie rod and upper arm, lose a portion of the lower and the pins that hold it to chassis. Also I may have roasted the rear tires off it doin some smoky burnouts. So now im gonna have to spend more money on a hobby I wasnt plannin on getting into cause my son loved this thing. The things we do for our kids.

Dont be blaming your kid!

Well the boys were so excited to try it, my 4 year old was grabbing the remote when I hit the first tree. I can blame one accident on the kids at least. The second time was all my fault. I lost the control arm pin on the first crash and cut up a snap on drill bit to make a new one. When i crashed the second time I lost the pin and the part of the arm it goes thru so that ended my fun. Its like a land equivalent of skis. Eats fuel like a fat chick at a buffet, costs money everytime I use it, and is stupid fun. Ebay had all the stuff I needed, and will have me back in business when we get back from vacation.

Also on the model I posted there is a dial to control the speed. So when you hand the remote to your kid it only goes 5mph or whatever, until they figure out the dial and crash it full speed into the next object. :)

Home Automation is nice and all but it sure makes swapping out a router a PITFA!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

It took the bulk of my 13 hr day to install, configure and re-connect all 39 devices in our home. And I know what I'm doing!
The MyQ garage doors and the RainbirdWiFi were the most offensive of the bunch.

Our old router crapped out so I wanted to try one of the whole home mesh systems so I picked out a Netgear Orbi 2-pack and so far I am not impressed.
If it f@cks up even once, it's going back and I'm getting another Linksys.

39 devices? Man I have no clue what 39 things could run in a house. Do you like the myQ setup for the garage door? My opener has it available but I have never set it up

It adds up faster than you think

Direct TV with 5 genies = 6 devices
2 iphones and 4 iPads = 6 devices
Work and Play Computers, wired and Wifi connections = 8 connections (And that doesn't include the 3 in the OCD garage that aren't connected).
Garage door openers with MyQ = 2 devices
ADT Alarm = 2 devices
Apple TV's = 5 devices
Amazon Echo Spot and Dots = 3 devices
Rainbird = 1
Phillips Hue Light Bridge = 1
Reolink Camera System = 3, (this does not include the 17 hard wired cameras).
Fitbit Bathroom Scale = 1
Network Color Laser Printer = 1

I added an additional 2700 ft of Cat6 network cable to the house after it was built.

I had a master plan of creating a single routine for Alexa that I would utter as I climb into bed.
"Alexa, lock it down"
It would lock the doors, close the garage if it wasn't already, arm the alarm and turn off all the lights. I got everything but the garage doors but she does finish with, "your castle is secure my king!". ;)

The garage doors had the Alexa function for all of about 3 weeks before they removed it from the skill, for security reasons. I guess if you could yell loud enough, Alexa would open the door for just about anyone, lol. So, rather than add a pass code, they removed the function altogether.

I have never personally used the garage door App but my wife uses it daily when she goes for her walks so she doesn't have to carry keys. Probably the most useful feature is just to check the app to see if the door is closed or not without driving all the way back home. If you did happen to leave it open, you can also shut it remotely...from anywhere in the world with internet service.

Amazon has just added a feature where you can link the MyQ app to your Amazon account so the driver can place your packages inside. I haven't looked to see if you still have to open the door or if the driver gets full access all by himself. Not a bad idea if you are receiving high dollar items...and you trust the drivers...

After fighting weak and intermittent signal for the past week, we ditched the Orbi and picked up a Linksys AC4000 from Sam's club this morning and everything is right with the world again. :)
Since I already have a backup profile for the Linksys routers, I was up and running in minutes and it only took about an hour and a half to get everything connected, including the MyQ garage doors and Rainbird sprinkler.

I must have found a few more devices because now I'm showing 43 devices total.

43 Connected Devices.jpg

I re-configured the old router as an access point and positioned it out on the patio to extend the wireless out to pick up the cameras on turtle Island. We have not been able to connect to them all week so it's been real bummer not seeing our quirky little vagrants.

Okay today is my birthday, I get done working at noon(been hauling ass since 5:30am). I go home and start drinking some good brews, about 8 to be exact. I'm rockin out with some good tunes on my home stereo. I see me neighbor across the street struggling for a couple hours trying to get his truck started. He normally drives a Harley or a Chrysler crossfire car to work and has a 95 ford truck with a straight 6, 3 on the tree for hauling things.

Anyhow, he has a uhaul hooked to the truck with his tool boxes(hes a diesel mechanic). Its like 110 out. I go to put my shirt on and go to ask him if needs to use my truck to haul his uhaul stuff. Well there was a scorpion in my shirt and now I have a scorpion sting on my neck and its feels like needles and razor blade poking into my neck... FACK..

Please like this for sympathy for me...:D

Looks like I get Monday off.

I'd much rather go to work and be there to start-up all the equipment we are installing this weekend but unfortunately, the temp tag on my brand new 2019 RAM expires on Sunday. Turns out it takes more than 45 days for CDRJ of North Savannah to get this accomplished.

FYI, the tag office is literally less than a mile down the road from the dealer. I would have done it myself but they repeatedly told me it was being processed and should already be in the mail for the past 2 weeks! What a f'in joke!

Just add this to the incredibly long list of offenses by this particular dealer.
Here's the highlights;
* This is the same dealer that sold me my last truck and called me a week later to inform me that we did all the paperwork on the wrong VIN number.
** They currently have my old truck listed for sale but they have the wrong model listed and all of the stock photos are of a completely different interior.
*** When I was shopping for the 2019, I stopped in 3 different times and spoke to 3 different sales agents and explained exactly what I wanted. They repeatedly send me pictures of the 2017/18 limited that were absolutely identical to my current truck and could never figure out why I wasn't interested.

Update: I’ll be fine now. The salesman just texted me a picture of a piece of paper to show the officer if I get pulled over.

Lol, I would have gone off! "My bad, was that the thumbs up, I meant to post a different finger emoji", "Do the letter's F O mean anything to you?"

Half asking price is a lowball offer, 1/7th is a flat out insult and deserves a donkey punch not a counter-offer.

Richard doesn't act like a little bitch when his low ball offer falls flat, he knows he's being a dick by doing it.
