Viewed all the new post with this button and for some reason the old "spy" tool has been missing for some time now. wtf am I supposed to troll now? Need my cowboy keyboard fix before I hit the sack.

guess I'll make a complaint thread for serious issues so I don't derail this one

So we have a friend that is going through a divorce. She is my wifes best friend. She has 3 kids. The oldest just turned 8 yesterday. Same age as my daughter. (They are best friends), The middle is 4. The youngest is 6 months. The POS Soon to be X Asshole pretty much left her Christmas Day...... So, Being the good friend that I am.... She says "Hey, there are going to be times when I may have to call you and need you to come over to take care of certain things"......... Yup, you know what went through my mind!!!, But that was not it............ Help around the house. As in, fix things.... So, Big Dummy had bought a riding mower that was a twin cylinder with standard gear drive (Not hydrostatic) for a yard I could push in about 30 minutes........ Well, It would not stay running.......... Start trouble shooting..... Changed out the fuel pump, No Go........ Replace it........ Still no crank........ come back the next day, battery had died, put charger on it... Get there, I had left the damn key one...... Come back again.......... No go still.......... Pulled the carb (looks like a 2 barrel carb). Find the jets in the middle of the bowl.... WTF had he done to this........ Yes, found missing bolts and screws all over. Bought new carb......... Got it installed early last week..... Cranks and runs great.......... Exept the belts are worn out. Think the Frigging idiot left the blade control on and it stretched the belt. Go get belt last week. Go by last night and replace said belt.......... Effin Battery was dead again, no, they key was not on....................

To top that off, my Riding mower had started smoking after I got the steering fixed (Not going there, just say rusted bolt on the steering shaft). Cranked it up Sunday and it was really smoking and oil was everywhere........ Pulled the shroud off. One of the crank case bolts had come loose....... It was under the massive flywheel...... Pulled flywheel, had to retap the hole..... found more loose bolts. Removed them, cleaned up and installed all the bolts back.......... Yes, should have pulled the cover and replaced the gasket, will do that in a week or so. Just wanted to get it cranked and see if that fixed the smoking issue............. It did, can I say I am sick of working on lawnmowers.

Plus she has a push mower that is messed up also.

l want to say this is not trivial, but some may think so.The drive belt on my Lawn Boy walk behind mower needed to be replaced.l buy one and go to install it.Gonna tell you all a long 3 hour ordeal and story in short form.

Would you think that an engine would have to be removed from its deck to R & R a belt to be replaced!? Well chit,it did! Removed the whole engine from the deck, then removed some sort of housing that helps to make the exhaust quite to actually get to the pulley that the old belt was on.Three friggin hours.

Dam,what the hell were the engineers thinking
I feel your pain...I work on small engines and some of these engineers are absolutely ridiculous and don't make things repair friendly. A lot of people come in with broken recoil starter assemblies, and I forgot what recent brand it is, but instead of having a removable shroud with just screws or bolts that comes off in like 30 seconds, it's riveted on...So on top of messing with an annoying spring to fix the recoil, you get to drill out a bunch of rivets and have a ton of fun haha.

Its not the engineer most of the time, the perfectly engineered product hits the chopping block once the item it look at a manufacturing point of view “how cheap can we make this idea and it still meets the intended form, fit, and function” It’s quite discussing but I’ve gotten used to it. Reminded me of this skit lol

@Sanoman I had a Snapper that was the same way. I didn't mind though.

@BK, sometimes I shy away from helping certain ppl with things because it seems to always snowball into a nightmare. And the way you told your story..... It was very familiar to me..... Like I've seen it before..... LOL...................

I have a heap of big problems to bitch about but I don't want to wallow in self pity on here.
I do have this....
I have a 02 2500HD, power steering pump went out. I get a take off from a buddy at LKQ, he gives me one off a Tahoe, which doesn't have hydro boost. No workie. So now I have to take it back and swap it out. Taking the PS pump off a 6.0 LS motor is a little bit of mofo. I'm trying to get it running so I can sell it to buy parts for my 4runner.
