the trivial complaints thread

Got a rotisserie chicken for lunch, cut into it, and it was pretty much raw. Don't think I'll be having chicken for at least a few months now. Gross.

I work in culinary so it's not gross to me but hell yeah I'd be pretty pissed off.

I remember one time at a golf tournament I bit into a hotdog and it was partially frozen. Turned me off to hotdogs for a while lol.

Go to install all the new parts into my milling machine today and what should be a 3-4 hour job is a total cluster f*@k! There's no printed instructions because there are so many youtube videos posted that it wasn't deemed necessary. Well, the kit I bought is slightly different, (and better, quite frankly) so it's a little more in depth than the average setup and none of the videos show the extra details I need.

I finally find the video that explains how to do the install for my specific setup and the narrator is speaking in broken English with a thick European accent and which isn't too bad to understand but, when he can't find the right words, he just skips right over the detail and moves on. This could be acceptable except, rather than show a step by step how-to with disassemble and reassemble instructions, he is explaining the process on an already completed assembly and leaves out a ton of really important details.

I have most of it figured out now but not before I made some mistakes that cost me hours of productivity...like dropping all 52 tiny ball bearings out of the ballscrew nut. If you think finding them all was a PITA, you should try wrangling them all back into the nut!

Printed instructions with the necessary details would have had this entire job done in 4 hours but instead I have 4 hours in already and probably at least another good day to complete.

If I met him face to face I would donkey punch his nuts so f@#king hard his kids would cry!

Apparently on my drive to the gym this morning the front passenger's side fender flare on my truck blew off. I didn't notice when it happened and didn't even notice until lunch since I was only viewing the driver's side upon exiting and enteiring my vehicle. So, for giggles, I retraced my steps from this morning and low and behold on the side of Rt 495 is a big ol' hunk of plastic in the breakdown lane. Yep, my fender flare. Still mostly in one piece, just a bit scuffed up. Apparently the 'security clips' that came with the flares don't stay secure forever. So, looks like I will step up to sheet metal screws or rivets.

This is pretty trival.

So my motor head hotrod buddy shoots me a screen shot of an ad on FB for a complete C6 Corvette front brake setup. Including spindles and hubs.... FOR $50...

So I call the guy that minute, go to his house at 8am, and buy it all for $40. Thats spindles, hubs, rotors, and calipers for $40.... left and right side.
(I can only use the calipers and rotors)

So I start doing research on what else I need to put these on my 1959 Biscayne (same as Bel Air).

Holy Crap....

Wilwood Master Cyl $200
Distribution Mani with lines $107
Proportioning Valve $45
Billet Hubs with Studs and Bearings $349
Caliper Brakets $125
Brake Lines $70

NINE. HUNDRED. DOLLARS. to put my $40 Brakes on my car...

I bought a brush guard for my tundra off craigslist for $100. I went to install it and the mounting kit and instructions are for for a westin guard but the guard itself must not be a westin because it doesn't match up to the mounts and looks different than the guard in the pictures. It obviously is for my truck though. Search Internet for days to no avail of figuring out what brand name it is. Google image it to death. It doesn't look like any other brand I can find and my local truck shops are no help.

I have it listed with honesty on Craigslist for $75 with no takers. About to just throw it all in the trash.
