My Sea Doo shoes are just like that and I HATE them.
Too narrow and too bulky.

reef Wakeskate shoes they stay light and are pretty padded only downside is they fill with sand instantly. they only work on the lake

Anybody use dive boots? I found a pair of brand new US Diver neoprene zip ups at a garage sale, they look like they might work OK. At least they will keep sand out.

True... I've used dive booties, surf booties etc... "lace-up" is all that will stay on my feet. Had a pair of "Jet Pilot" boots, but couldn't feel anything with them on. I now use wrestling shoes and love them. Shove a neoprene sock in for cold water.

It's a matter of personal preference.

I have been wearing those too... easy on/off and have some decent padding. Matter of fact I have no underpadding on my ski so wrestling shoes kill my knees/feet.
No problem at all swimming in them.

my next pair of shoes will be wakeskate shoes though.

For me, Addidas running tennis shoes. LOVE them. Gives me great support, very light and makes me feel athletic. Most other shoes I've worn have either felt too heavy and bulky or too thin and not enough support.

I picked up a pair of Ascis Wrestling shoes today, on clearance, at Sports Authority, for $39, marked down from $50. They had plenty of sizes, and said the other stores had the same deal.
I went ahead and took the advice of others here and went one 1/2 size bigger than my normal size with the water sock on. They are comfortable, but I'm a little concerned because that extra 1/2 size gives quite a bit of room from the tip of my toes to the front of the shoe. I'll try them out today and post again.

The sole fell apart rather quickly but I superglued them and they have been holding pretty good ever since. I like the ankle support....

I've used skate shoes, dive boots, no shoes, and wrestling shoes. Wrestling shoes are the best IMHO

The only complaint I have about my lace-up asics wrestling shoes is that it's a pain to get them on and off and they let sand and rocks in but not out. Other than that, they let you get more of your foot in the hold than other shoes, they have good grip, and protect your ankles from getting torn up on the sides of the tray.

i use regular old nike running shoes....they are usually made of mesh.....find em on clearance usually 40-50 bucks


wrasslin' shoes are ok, but they hurt my feet and offer no heel padding......
