Custom/Hybrid Tiger Craft Aquabot Discussion Thread

Id be less concerned about the creepy chickens, and more concerned about the bond line looking like someone was beating it with a hammer.

I think the wavy bond line is an optical illusion. It seems to only be wavy by the battery mounts, it looks like it's due to the reflection in the glossy bilge paint to me.

From what I've heard and seen Tony touches up all corners and bondrails with gelcoat anyway and has great attention to detail. This info was coming from another hull builder so I can't imagine its a bias opinion

Well awesome, it's almost Daytona time and I still haven't water tested my ski because the hood hasn't shown up yet. So, I now see what all you others are getting upset about because now I'm also the victim of some crappy customer service. The hull was delivered with no hood and I was promised a hood within a week of hull delivery... three weeks later I still have no hood. Someone waited til the last minute yesterday to UPS over night the hood to me and the package was caught in a weather delay and won't get here til next week, which means no hood, no surf plugs (in the same package), no time at the last minute before trip to do the work, which means no f***ing aquabot at Daytona! THANKS!

Damn! That's a really crappy situation. Have you talked to him? Maybe one of his workers could bang out a loaner hood for you to use in Daytona? Just a thought
Sorry to hear
I was really hoping to see your hull in Daytona and maybe a test ride

Another option is maybe it could be picked up at the terminal it's stuck at by you or someone driving through depending where it is. It sucks no matter how you look at it, I'm just trying to think of a way for you to not cancel your trip

It took three weeks to get this hood together... No loaner hood lol. Not surprised by shipping delay with this northern weather, mainly ticked because it shouldn't have been shipped last minute. Hopefully can get upgraded to Saturday air delivery, if not I'll get it on Monday and have to do some last minute thrashing and just test it at lake Diaz. Anyone who wants to help test it will be appreciated. Just sucks cause this shouldn't have been a problem, should have had hood weeks ago

Not sure how long it takes him to layup a hood and hood liner and bond them but your first hood took longer because the Gen1 hood liner didn't work in the Gen2 hood. Hopefully something works out to get you down here. You'd miss a great event!
Do you have a tested/proven drivetrain in a new hull or is this a fresh build? I am definitely willing to help if I can

Ok.so I'll post this so I don't look like a complete asshole. Was the hood delayed.Yes I.made.the original hood finished it and wasn't happy with liner we went back re tooled.liner new plug.mold.ect and.sent off a hood next day air. The thing people don't understand is making an entire ski from scratch is a serious amount of work.the majority of companies today start with an sj or sxr then up grade picture it like adding a body kit to a civic or taking a civic rolling chassis and making everything from scratch. Yesterday the hood was shipped which would give him a hood today looks like I'm not the only company that can't make deadlines.and you were never promised anything. Actually looking back through previous texts krawler told me back in Sept he didn't need his hull until February.so I'm actually early. IMAGINE THAT!

I'm just disappointed man. I really wanted to water test the ski this weekend so it would be ready for Daytona, but now I'm going in to the event blind and untested. I think you're a good guy man and I've liked you from the start, I would have just liked some more communication. I want it to be a good ski for the free ride and a good display for you. I work for ups so I know how things get delayed, just saying it would have been here had it been shipped a day earlier. I don't want to argue, I just want my ski to be done. I'm gonna thrash on it before I leave Wednesday and hopefully get a good test at lake Diaz.
