I didnt mean to stir the pot to much, but it does get people thinking about the "big picture", I hope...

Its like everyone and there dog lately is trying to knock off and sell stuff now. I could make lots of these little parts as my full time business for the last 11 years has been fiberglass repair and refinishing. I've splashed huge fender molds for RV's, all kinds of weird auto hot rod parts and things for repair work. I could easily make and sell freestyle parts cheap and undercut the big guys with their overhead. I dont have a shop. I do all the work at my shop at my house in the desert. I am mobile too with a van full of everything. I guess my morals are different than some, so I thought I would throw it out there for debate.

I just posted my opinion.
I just hope it can stay somewhat civil and be debated like adults.

The #1 reason I wanted to make a mold was so I could make the aftermarket parts that I was using, stronger and more durable.
$180-$250 for flimsey chin pads and nose pieces that crack and break don't do me any good.
Anything made and sold here in the 615 is at the very least 20%-30% different than OEM or anything else out there, AND stronger.

Some of the aftermarket parts that I've bought in the past have had more voids in them than the first chin pad I ever worked on had.

If aftermarket companies are not going to make the parts as strong as I would like them, and we're able to make them, we will be doing so.

I WILL NOT SELL DIRECT KNOCK OFF PARTS!:fing02:

Just wanted to throw that out there since I've listed some garage made parts on here lately.

Right on! I don't think anyone sees anything wrong with parts that have been improved in design. Like chinpads. If it fits on a handlepole and works it's gonna be very similar to every other chinpad. It can only be changed so much and still be a chinpad. By the way, yours look nice.

I bought one of his and it's the shiznit-real close to a stocker by design, yet much slimmer and stronger and attaches in the frt like a stocker. Major improvement over my wifes 24/ chinpad!!! Hats off to the 615!!!

I simply posted my opinion as well. Everyone has one and posts like htis tend to bring them out. Not a problem really just felt the need to :puke: all up in this thread LOL, SORRY, cought me in one of those moods HA HA HA!!!!!

I hope everyone knows that doing it is technically illegal. If you use a direct copy and sell for less. All these companies are not going to waste their time with lawyer's fees to fight against these copycats making small amounts of money. It gets to a certain point in every market where a company has to make a stand and to my belief I do not think anyone has yet. Making a copycat for yourself and not selling it is a totally different then gaining income from your copy. I understand that the products are overpriced due to the low amount of competition and small market. However, the price must be that high because people are willing to pay for it. This market is way to small and no one has enough money to fight the copycats and have not felt it is hindering their business enough to make it worth it.

Dealing with cost such as waterfreak stated that is part of doing business. It happens in every market that companies with lower fixed cost and create a lower cost item and in the long run create a higher profit margin.

Yes we make our own parts but unless we change some aspect of the design or function it is unethical for me to sell products.

only illegal if there is a Patent on it...................

Blowsion did not get the Patent on the Tubbie if I am not mistaken, they had Patent Pending for a while which protected them.

No one has patents or patent pending on any of this stuff or its design or copyrights? I guess to each his own I understand it is expensive for these but that is what makes their product differentiate.

I wonder if someone could knock off one of these.

I may try and make a splash of these and offer to sell them if customers show enough interest in them...

These are a new design that will revolutionize ride plate technology. The first of its kind disposable ride plates.
