Freestyle To TL or not to TL...

I'm curious where this statement originated? Does anybody know who it was that tried it and determined a 155 in a freak was a waste of time? Or, was there some type of flow calculation that was run to come up with the conclusion?

Genuinely curious. Not looking to cause any type of arguments over it.

Excactly, if it messaures true 155mm thru out the entire tunnel, no problem feeding the 155mm pump.
im surprised if NO one ever tried to see if its possbile. It was the same with the first Rickters XFS, everyone said max 144 or 148mm.
But ive seen a couple of guys installing 155mm pumpshoe and having great succes with it.

One of our local riders had the first gen Piranha hulls, that must be abou 6 or 8 years old - at least before it was common to run big pumps.
He installed a 155mm pump shoe and OEM 155mm pump and it was GREAT :)

FYI i wont be running anything else than TL ignition in a flatwater boat.

The pump tunnel will not flow enough water for a 155. It is a waste of time.

Someone asked TEM years ago when he was still making these, and the answer from the guy who developed and built the actual ski's was what McDog said above.

Yes. He tried and it was a no go and he decided not to remake the badass molds because he was focusing on the circus hull.

Thanks for the info.

Tell you what, you find me someone who will trade me a Carbon T1 for my superfreak and we can figure something out on my 148 =D

Bahahaha. If I find that sucker he's getting my freak before he gets yours.

Have you given any thought to the JSTL system that the California Freestyle guys are using? If it's truly plug and play and as good as they say it might end up being like a TL equivalent of an MSD Enhancer.

You are smarter than you look sir!

JSTL is def on my radar, been following it for months and have spoke with zack z regarding it. Gonna reach out to phil and explore some other options as well. If i do pull the trigger on the TL i want to get the right prop and curves right off the bat so I don't waste a month d*cking around with sh*t. Summers are too short up here to have downtime.

Philip makes the most solid MSD kit I have ever seen. Dudes a scientist with an evil smile . I think on either our system or his downtime with ignition is gonna be minimal if not non existent. With that being said Philip has loads more experience on the 148 pump than we do. I think whichever route you do decide to go with your gonna be hooked up with the right guys

I think Philip has forgotten more than I know. He’s hooked a lot of great people up in the sport, Taylor Kress boosted his Dvx higher than anyone in amatuer class last year. Kelly has been dominating flips ever since he built her a powerband she could use. Great dude for sure

Not the most aggressive but it will work quite happily on your ski with no issue what so ever. You can get more out of it but this will be just fine

My zeeltronic just showed up in the mail. It had a printout of exactly that sheet with exactly those curves.

I'm guessing you like the red one, but wondered what the story is on where those two came from and why somebody might choose one or the other.

Hi there
Yes he will now put those curves in now when you buy them. The reason being is because you can plug it in and go riding.
I only ever use one curve in my ski as the fuel changes when you adjust ignition timing so having a hot swapping curve is a waste of time.
The red curve is one i wrote for the people setting up this ignition in there Yamaha with a 760 based system.
Its called the wax racing products curve if you want to ask him for it.

For what it's worth, I have mine installed now and running. Very easy install, so far no problems at all plugged it in and it "just works".

I started with a "chicken out" map that was very mild as I had a lot of firsts going on with a motor I built and put in a hull that I built, after a little tuning and confidence building switched to the Waxhead map and very happy with how it's running.

62t cylinder bored to 753, home job porting with the templates the guy sells on here.
B pipe (manifold "ported" for the 62t cylinder)
38mm carbs, stock intake/flame arrestor (I have 44's that I will put on eventually, again making things easy on myself to begin with)
38mm domes in an ADA head

still tuning, but 10/16 hooker in a solas 144 mag and it feels under propped to me.

Ugly beat up backie chan hull, mediocre rider but I'm working on it!

I just stuffed the zeeltronic sideways in the rubber thing that holds the stock ecu, ran the tuning cable to the hole for the fuse so I can dig it out and reprogram easily.

Assuming there are no issues with reliability, this seems like an incredible deal for what you get and how well it works.

That's awesome man. So to run that ignition you need a 760 flywheel, cover, and stator, and the pdcs-01t w/wax racing curve and that's it? Will it fit in a super jet ebox or better to have a larger one like the gp800 box?

Use the 760 ebox and it fits- you will have to modify a 61x or 62t box to fit.
