Trinity Composites EVO Conversion

Not only that, but I can almost guarantee that anyone who would take the time to pick up the phone, and just talk to Bobby (not place a order) but just see what he is all about, would no longer think of him as whatever his words make him look like on here.

He has made quite a big name for himself in the short time he has been back into building a world class Light weight ski... He could'nt have done it nearly this fast without the X. :headbang:

He has also sold a solid amount of parts to people on here as well as else were that were all delivered on time, with ZERO negative feedback that I have heard.

Well, I can tell you progress continues, Johny was at the shop tonight, stripping paint from the bottom hull, prepping for paint. The old upper bondline still needs to be removed, then it will be ready to glue on the upper, and off for paint.

The goal is to have it ready for the deerfield race. They better keep moving.

Few more pics. Jonny finished stripping the upper. Total weight taking off the upper was 64 lbs. We figure after glue we will save 30 lbs. Should be getting painted this week and then sending it to exotic signs.

It weighs 130 lbs with glue. No pump, shaft, engine mounts, fuel tank, handlepole, and water box. The stock hull gutted weighs 96 lbs with tubbies and some past repair to the nose from log jumps.

Yes kevlar is kevlar and s-glass is s-glass. But there are about 8-10 differences between the two materials which I don't want to elaborate on. I put a lot of thought, research and calculation into my layup schedule. Also the pics only show the surface there is more going on inside the laminates. Remember this is a enjoyable side show to my career which involves high dollar consulting and tooling in a industry beyond skis. I have consulted or sub contracted for Orion Aviation, Bimini Marine, Mathews Custom Boats, High Jacker Racing (marine), LoPresti Speed Merchants (aviation), Velocity Aircraft, Liberty Aerospace, Pursuit Boats, Freedom Aviation, and Disney Corp. Not to mention I've helped EME at a loss. I've helped a little on Bogarts deal. And have had companies contact me and entertain the idea of me helping them: blowsion, wamilton, Riva, and a corp. name in the watercraft industry. My ability to do these projects at $40-$80 an hour came from my family back ground. I'm fourth gen. aviation development and third gen. composite structural design. This my life and passion can we keep this fun? I don't answer questions on your threads Steve. Thats where I think this sidetrack started. Lets just have fun building skis. And keep to are own business on these threads. I respect everyones ideas and projects and don't get involved unless its directed towards me. Also respect you and anybody trying to promote this sport.

did wamilton really contact you?

i think he knows a lot and is too cocky to ask anyone.

No I met him, shook his hand and talked for 30 min. Very nice guy I have a lot of respect for his efforts to offer am parts. He told me his blood, sweat and tears for this sport. We he was leaving a recent event he had is man stop the truck so wammer could give his card to me. Told me to call him. While I was doing a interview on the build Josh rides. Wammer is cool, he offered some parts for Brad to get back in the water. Lloyd who is a good friend and rides with Josh is full on hooked up by Wammer. We have some video from Cracker of Lloyd ripping it up in the surf last weekend for wammer and lloyd. Wammer is cool.

Well its 99% done. I took the pics before Jonny put on the hood latch. All thats left to put on is two parts for the new race hood. The empty hull w/plumbing and engine mounts was 130 lbs. vs 165-175 stock. Its on the road to one of the national race stops. Go Jonny Go.

It took a bit of re-reading, that weight is just the hull correct?

What is the weight savings when you factor in the hood also?

That ski is so cool... I hope mine ski looks someday as good as this. I hope we got some pictures about inside hull.

Also how is that trurfing made in the tray? It looks so strange.
