It took a bit of re-reading, that weight is just the hull correct?

What is the weight savings when you factor in the hood also?
The stockers weigh between 165-175 lbs. Jonnys ski weighs 130 lbs with the same amount of hardware as a stocker. We saved at least 35 lbs on the upper conversion. A stock hood weighs around 24 lbs. The race hood weighs 9 lbs for a
difference of 15 lbs. Total I took 50 lbs off the stock weight.

I heard Johny and his newly done up whip did quite well last weekend, hole shotting the competition in 3 of 4 Moto's and leading a lap or so:headbang: Not sure exactly what he placed, but the competition was fearce with Mac, and other top riders.

Overall I would say a solid performance for someone who has not ridden since WF's...

I here alot of people were pretty impressed. :woot:

Congrats on the return Johny.

That color is soooooooooooo freakin sick dude. If I ever build another boat, or buy an SJ hull from ya :)wink: )... yeah, that SXR might have a twin :fingersx:

I know that this is a build thread and I hate to hijack but... Are there any plans to ever build a lightweight SJ hull???

The flatwater guys that will never see surf don't care if the ski rides good. We want light weight short hulls. We ride in small circles and hit our own wake. We have the gynormous powerplants so we don't want to switch to Kawi. We just need the 49 pound hull. And what will it cost (with a hood) so I can start saving because I will own one. I like the XFT but I know someone with one so I have to be different.

Yes, Jeremy Parr and I are working together to come up with the best possible setup from a pro riders point of view. I started the hood and got slammed with evo builds, plus what has to be done for world finals. Heres the plan. Finish the hood, tool footholds and a ride plate. Then upper deck. That will give me a conversion and hood kit to sell while I tool the hull and bulkhead. Prices will be relatively close to the evo prices with the choice of two different layup builds like the evo.

Don't have Jeremy input too much into it. He is like 4 feet taller than I am...LOL But that is great to hear. I know that it takes time good thinks come to those who wait...(twittling thumbs)

I am sure that the race ski for Jonny Smith is going to turn out great!! your work always comes out looking top notch!! good work, keep it up.
I am sure that I will never know the whole background story, but I hope one day it is all left behind, things like this happen in must industries that are on the smaller side. but if we could figure away to put that in the past (I know it is hard to do sometimes) I think it would be a great benifit for the industry.

Keep up the great work
