Nope. He's going for quality, not quantity. Next year he is talking about increasing production.

I figured as much. my point was in regards to charlies' comment, as he stated he was only making 15 of them. if he gets a good enough call to make more of them, I don't see why he would stop there. that was my point.

That was a rough number for the year that I can handle and not rush. It might seem like a small number, but for one guy thats a lot of work. Next year I'll be set up to do more while offering the same quality. Quality is first, quality will always outlast a second rate job. Quality won't make as much money in a day as a hack job. But the job will always be there when quality is there as well. Long after the hack work dried up, customers are pissed and the money is gone. I'm always focused on the long haul.

You can get it how you want it charlie. Most guys are talking about doing flat or satin finishes. All the hulls so far have left in white epoxy primer, I really hate to gel a high performance machine. There are some other am companies offering this as an option now due to the overall quality and strength in this application. Good things catch on quickly I see. Last I don't remember ever spaying gel coat into a mold that made the parts for the planes my family and I build. There is a good reason for everything that is put into these hulls with complete understanding of the products used. Heres a pic of a 6 passenger aircraft designed, modeled, tooled, prototyped, and flown by my uncle, myself and workers. A total of about six years between two designs, the other is similar but 8 passenger. The parts for the planes come out of the molds in the same high quality epoxy I use now. Cheers:beerchug:

These are custom builds anything is possible. The company that makes the primer does gray. Also white can be tinted any color or shade. So the the answer is there are options. I never know if your being serious or picking at me, sorry:Banane35:

my question was more about 'finishing' it w/ primer, rather than the actual color of the primer.

Your worried about Primer? LOL!!

Nah man don't sweat that stuff.. Its all about Bobby's laminate schedule and the significant knowledge of design your buying. His hull is leagues beyond anything currently available, anywhere. Mines going satin black.

The one in this thread is just the plug for a mold, correct? Does the finish on the plug mean anything at all?

Thanks for the heads up bro, and I agree 100%. :beerchug: I'm sure the Matrix will be the death of many hull builders this year.. They may be able to copy the style but never the quality.

I hope its not the "death" of any one or any shop... Instead it could help push competitors to push back and advance the sport and the equipment involved....

Never wish for competition to die..... The sport will die with it.

Yes, I wasn't inferring in any way "speedy" and/or second rate quality, I was just saying I'm sure that you are and/or will be interested in making more than 15 hulls. I know it's difficult to assume what people are saying sometimes when it's typed on a screen...lol anyway, keep up the good work.

that plane looks like a "Velocity" with fileted in corners, frikkin badass. :beerchug:

Hey Bobby I was wondering for a long time is it possible to get it carbon fiber look outside ?

I'm sure you could if you paid for it! It sure would look pimp!

I remember seeing Bobby take an X metal pole and slam it down (Hard) on Lustic's hull without a hood and it didn't even chip the hull!

I was impressed... Looks good Bobby!

I cant wait to see what Pete can do on this thing. Pete was off the hook at Daytona, now hes got even better equiptment, awesome. Keep making killer stuff Bobby.
