True Performance Engineering engines-Daytona resultss

I really want to try the 964! (Unfortunately that's the reason I didn't go to Daytona this year was so that I could save up for a motor) by chance anyone in the Midwest have one yet that would be willing to give a test ride? (When the water thaws that is)

So, I rode brians 1105 brawler on Friday. I had never been on a brawler before either so everything was kind of a learning curve. First impression was "feels like the dasa 1200 I rode".After a few minutes of slashing around I decided I'd try some flat spins. Which is where I'm sure Brian started cringing. Ski came right on around 360 degrees first time trying, 3 minutes on a brawler. ( love the hull too by the way) so I'm grinning ear to ear now. I couldn't stay in the adjustable footholds as they weren't adjusted for my feet. Didn't try to flip for this very reason. I think the last flatspin I tried, the ski spun faster than I did. My body came around to 360 and the ski went about another 45 degrees. Face planted right into the water. This motor pulled. And pulled. And pulled. There were no flat spots in the motor, no stumbling or anything. This thing wore me out. I could hardly move Saturday morning. I would 100% recommend this motor to anyone interested in 1200cc power, this things got it. If anyone has any thing specific to ask me about, feel free to PM me or I'll try to check this thread.

^^ Did Brian only have the 1105 in the Brawler, or was this the 964?

Yes I had the 1105 in mine. It only hit the water friday. We had to leave today so it didnt get a chance to hit the water. Sorry to anyone else that was looking to try it. HOPEFULLY next year we can all decide what day flatwater friday is on lol. Some people who have very well expected opinions on here got to try it and shoud be adding to this in the next few days im sure..

The nasty SS 964 no one got to ride :). The PFP setup really opens up some big doors for this engine (and others too). It hit good in my Freak (with a b pipe), but I wanted more pull mid/top. With the PFP, it hits almost as hard on the bottom, but pulls so hard through the mid and top. Very impressed and surprised with the way it works with the current setup. It's truly a versatile engine, with many setup options.

Stock stroke has more than an xs1,000 cc?? I did not get to try the 964 this week.

Edit... Paul, a lot of guys were talking about the 964 in your freak, would you mind posting your setup?

Paul's setup is a analog msd total loss, full spec 49's, and either a b pipe or tnt with a 144 solas pump.

I rode the 10 mil and......WOW!

First of all wow on the hull. Very surprised and impressed with the ride of the brawler. Predictable. Stable. Nimble. I liked it a lot.

The motor was all I hoped it would be and more. Perfectly ridable and smooth 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. INSANE 1/2 to wfo. No lightswitch power band. Smooth and never stops but still explosive. Im scared I will get hurt with this motor. Careful what you wish for if you want extreme power. Way more power than a 1200 Dasa. Never rode xscream 1200 or 1400 so I can't compare those.

Like dog stated , my boat is a -4.3 carbon freak running the TPE 964, @ 180 pump gas cranking comp, alalog TL, TnT Limited chamber, full spec 49's, solas mag spinning a 16/21 hooker

Rode the 964 chan that phil built to compare. Where mine hit directly off the bottom with a wet pipe, phils with the PFP, started strong smooth and linear, then as it came on the pipe, went off like a freight train on steroids! It was fun to compare, and certainly gave me ideas for future changes.

Now to the TPE +10 !
First time on this motor for me. Wow! Not for the faint at heart! This motor will embarass some of the bigger motors from other builders. Really really powerfull. Im building two of these in the next couple of months, i better get these old bones in shape before i start water testing!

One of these was in Brians Brawler and the other in Phils KDX, both built and tuned by Phil! Job well done! Also first time on a Brawler, make sure you ride one of these before you buy anything else, very well built, handeling hull

Ski Ya, Paul

Old Philly 'Cheesesteak' Clemmons builds some of the nicest freeride/freestyle skis around. If you are interested in having a ski built to pro level by one of the most meticulous builders out there, he is your guy.

If he could ride a mountainbike as good as he builds skis, I would be in trouble! :)

Glad you got a chance to ride my backie chan. That motor and tuning combination hits harder then I'm comfortable with right now. :) Can't wait to get more seat time on it.

I finally got to test out the carbon pipe this weekend. In 2 almost identical blasters with TPE 964's. The Rickter pipe made night and day power increases over the C4 chamber setup. It also was a huge weight savings which is needed in a bllaster. Im currently smoking right through a 15/20 prop in the 144 solas mag section. Im going to upgrade to a 148 anyways but with my setup my guess would be a 16/21 or 17/21 is where it needs to be. Below is my setup.

Rockered B1 350lbs
TPE 964
Rickter Ninja pipe
Msd enhancer w/ Alum Flywheel
Novi 48's w/ PHP intake
144 solas mag 15/20 prop

I've ridden both the 1105 and the 964... both have mad power... the 1105 surprised the hell out of me. anyone who buys either motor will not be disappointed.

No, they also sell complete drop in motors. They are built to whatever specification you request. If you are interested in having an entire ski built, you may want to get in touch with Phil Clemmons. He is Erik's go to guy on complete builds.

Hopefully those that rode in the surf will post up thier thoughts. CarterB rode my TPE in the blaster, along with Cody, Chris Rauen and a few other people from Texas. Jeff Blair rode the 964 in the Freak and came back happy with what he rode!
