Tell him to pound sand.

Offer to buy it back for same money, while letting him know that there are other people ready to buy as is.

Tell him he could sell it for $2450 to one of those 3 guys if he regrets his purchase.

You are not responsible. The right thing to do is let him know he got a deal and other people will gladly take it off his hands.

tell him its his problem now, he got it for a fair price

its not like the crank blew the first day he started it. its not a big deal WOW the paint is pealing, stock hoods always peal theres notihng you can do about it

True, maybe he will call one of them and realize he got a deal based on others willingness to buy as is.

An analogy:

Someone buys your used car with a bumper sticker on the trunk. The buyer then tries to remove the bumper sticker and jacks up the trunk's paint job.

Is the buyer or seller legally responsible for the jacked paint job?

I bet the buyer.

I am all for standing behind stuff I sell. But HE is the one that peeled the sticker off and the paint with it. That happens on these hoods and it's in no way something you are resposible for.

I wouldn't buy it back from him. If peeling paint is the only thing the buyer is upset about then he is doing good! The paint on a SJ hood will come off just by looking at it wrong. The fact that he taking the stickers off and the paint is coming off with the stickers is not your problem.

All sales are as-is and final when purchasing a nine year old used ski!

I think you're responsible for paying for a complete custom paint job. You obviously KNEW that the paint could peel if he pulled the stickers off at some point. You're such a scam artist. I think a custom Blowsion paint job paid for by you is the ONLY reasonable solution.

Or not. Wow. Some people amaze me.

Yeah I did a sub on Gil's wife's SJ and the stickers were almost clear off with the paint stuck to them. I was like sorry man and Gil said it happens, Yamaha's are known for that. Must have been why he had it painted this winter.

If Yamaha's are know for the paint peeling, then I would tell the buyer you can give him the numbers to the other interested parties. Otherwise, the ski was sold as is and it is now his problem.

Tell him to send it to Blowsion or Wamiltons for a paint job and send you the bill.

Like others, it's a known problem. If he wasn't aware of it, he is now.

Send him a link to this site and get him to post "just bought this ski, what should I do?"

We'll fill him in, and welcome a new member.

When I started taking my decals off and the paint started peeling, I felt guilty, the old owner took such good care of the ski and here I was defacing it. Funny how we all react differently. Some people are always victims.
