Perhaps he meant that the labor charges for handling the product should be included in the product price. So a counter sale and internet sale still has the handling costs associated with the purchase in addition to direct costs and other indirect costs.

You add a buck or two to shipping to cover the cost of materials, unless you reuse boxes like many many other retailers do.

USPS Priority 4.50 - no materials fee
UPS/FedEx, within the state of FL should not exceed 9.00. Especially an envelope.

Maybe I should clear up that it was one of those bigger padded manila envelopes:biggrin: , but it was still just 2 bungee cords and a couple nuts and bolts. I also ordered it over the phone so I knew how much the shipping price was a head of time. He did not try to "pull one by me". I just really needed the straps for when I got back in town from college for the weekend and didn't feel like having to deal with making my own(Still had it sent ground though).

Wammer is a really nice guy and I will do business with him again, but he seriously needs to rethink his shipping prices. I know what some of you are saying about the "handling", but you would think thats worked into the price of the product. I'm not trying to bash Wamilton, but his prices aren't the best either. I mean $375 for an ADA Girdled Head seems pretty high to me. You can get them direct from ADA for $349 and from most of the parts dealers on this site for $325. In my opinion he has definitely worked in the "handling" fees into the prices of his products. Just my opinion though.

Once again I think Wammer is a great guy who has definitely done more for this sport than I have, but I just hate to see someone trying to make so much money off of shipping. My .02.

P.S. On a positive note his hoodstraps and shortened turn plate are awesome. I'll give them 2 thumbs up.  The bungees really hold the hood on tight and the shortened turn plate is great because it accepts straight bars or 0Deg bars and still is the same price as the rest of them out there($49).

I believe last summer when I parted out a square nose, a single 1 lb. package was a minimum of $6 bucks through UPS. A minimum! From what I recall, average cost was around $9 - $15 for most parts (small items anyway). The other thing too is that your shipping cost also includes insurance up to $100 through UPS.

I have ordered parts (set of pistons) from Riva before , which is about 20 minutes away, and was charged $8.50 for shipping. Such is the cost of not getting in my truck and driving there!!!

kingtut, you scored a sweet deal on that WF hood and nose piece...!

dont confuse shipping with handling......... u can NEVER add money for any reason and call it a "shipping charge" ........ u can add money and call it handling....... but i dont think that sounds like the issue here i think the issue here sounds more like the "after the fact costs" now i personally have never bought any jet ski anything online from anyone so i dont know who does what....... but i will say if someone were to not show shipping and handling charges till after the credit card has been charged then that would be borderline criminal........ i cant see how its allowable by law if thats whats really goin on

You own a business. Say your average cost of labor runs you about $40.00 per hour. If it takes 15 minutes to recieve the order, go pick it up off the shelf, get a box or envelope. Print or hand write the label, Fill out the shipping info. Call UPS (if they are picking up). It just cost you $10.00 in Man Labor Hours. So, lets say UPS charged him $8.00 in actuall shipping, or heck, the $9.00 +/- that Wam actually charged. That is a total of $18.00 in actual shipping and handling. But Wam only charge you $9.00 and may have actually eaten the time that he spent packaging it up and getting it shipped out. Just how much do you think he has to pay for these Video's vs. what he actually makes off them??? Not very much.

If anyone uses $40/hr labour to ship items they are complete and utter fools....you hire students for min wage to do that stuff.

Even at that....shipping items must be a HUGE part of any ski part manufacturer....it's part of the cost of doing business. Sometimes you eat a portion of those costs to stay ahead.....and don't even try and dsay there isn't enough markup on the items to ensure profit already!!

Try living in Canada and getting hit with duty and an extra flipping brockerage fee on top of the shipping and handling and currency conversion. Trust me I know about shipping costs and get beaten over the head with EVERY part I order.

:arms: you got a hood wf hood and nose piece for 450????

Yes I did. What a friggen steal. Super nice quality!!! I have never seen a WF hood with 4 hand holds. I didn't plan on bidding on it but when the max bid was only $410 I thought I would get it for a friend that wasn't at the ride (car accident). Now he doesn't have money to pay me for it so I am going to try and work out a trade to get a Blowsion trim system for it.

I have a Wammer 2 hold hood on my ski and wish I could put this one on. It wouldn't be worth it to me cause my ski is black and has a graphics kit. This hood is white (I know I can paint it).

Plus it was for a great cause. My hat goes off to all the people that donated items for the raffles and also to all the people that helped raise the $13,500.

nothing wrong with with a little extra handling charge. It's the no discont for two or more items that pisses me off.

Im talking about each shipped item is a minimum $8 per small item and no discount for the second and more items purchases. Like 4 small items bought with a cost of $32 in shipping. that sucks. When it only cost $8 bucks to ship.

I refuse to do business with companies like this. But too make a little extra on handling is not that bad. Gouging sucks.

Re Shipping

I've been on this site many times and after read'n these posts i'd thought i'd log on and give you my 2 cents... Just picked up a hull off Wamiltons, a used kawasaki hull and needed him to put it in a crate and ship it. I was told $400 US to put it in crate, I had set up the shipping company to come to his door and pick it up all that was needed was to put it in a crate...
Now I work at a SeaDoo dearship in Ontario and from time to time we have to ship units back to BRP or have customers that need us to crate their ski and I can tell you that we could never getaway with charging that much! We have an $89/hour shop rate and if are yard kid counldn't put a 8' x 3' x 3' wood "box" together in under an hour i would be SHOCKED and you should see him! So add in the price of wood and what $150-200 and thats Canadian! I think its nuts to charge that much, what do you guys think?

I ended up get'n the truck company to pick it up "asis" on a skid...

You mean it was going to cost you $400 to crate the ski on top of the shipping cost?

YES!! They wanted $400 to put a stand-up in a crate... That is on top of what I paid for the hull, and I made all the shipping arrangements. The truck showed up at their back door... It is F__KED???
