Wamiltons shipping is outrageous (edited)

Err your missing the point, read what I have wrote. I am moaning about the fact that he took the money from my account 1 month before sending me the goods. he should take it out on the day of shipping. I had no problem in waiting..... and is not about if he is willing to ship a partial order, if i want to pay for that then yes he should he should do as i instruct and the end of the day he is running a business. But he had no right to take money from my account before shipping the order.

I do agree! IMO You should have been notified if you order was on backorder or just not in stock. I believe if you call and speak Portuguese (Wam's native language) then I do believe pricing and ethics are quite a bit different. Easiest thing to do is just take it as a lesson and don’t ever order from him again. I won’t!!!

well, ask this, what would happen if he waited 1 month then pulled the money and you had spent more than you had ment to and did not have enough money to cover the order, one, you would be overdrawn and charged for insuffecient funds or you can look at it as well, its paid for.... I think the big issue is that he did supply you with everything you ordered, granted it a month later. What is the difference? you were willing to pay when you ordered...... I would have liked some communication saying "Hey, item back ordered, I will ship everything when it gets here......." I am not saying you dont have a legitimate gripe............

Ok, so I own a Kitchen Cabinet Business and my shipping charges are very large.
Look at these examples of why shipping and handling needs to be marked up.

I want to make 25% profit margin on all items sold

1. Cabinets cost $5,000.00 Sell for $6,666.67 = 25%
Shipping cost $500.00 sell for $500.00
Total cost $5,500.00 Total sale $7,166.67 now my margin is only 23.256%

2. Cabinets cost $5,000.00 Sell for $6,666.67 = 25%
Shipping cost $500.00 sell for 666.67
Total cost $5,500.00 Total sale $7,334.34 now my margin is 25%

Freight is part of your product cost and needs to marked up or margins will erode.

Just my .02 worth or .0267 with margin

Now that is something that I would also expect Wammer to do. If he didn't charge until the items were in stock, I could see him just putting the charge through without a call or e-mail. IMO is BS! His business isn't getting 1000 orders a day and would be fairly easy to treat anyone doing business with him with dignity and respect, meaning a phone call or e-mail. I think charging him when the item is not in stock is ok, as long as the buyer is knows it. When I ordered a ski to be built I paid 10k without the builder even knowing when the stock ski would be available to start work on. I figure Wammer feels he has close to a monopoly on aftermarket products and does tons of bus overseas that he doesn't care if he shafts people. This is my opinion after talking with him on the phone 3 times and 3 e-mails. Good to see others getting into the business and competing for customers. With practices like his I'm sure some others might just put a little dent in his profit margin.

How many times doe this happen? Customer orders parts today he has the money now but his card wont be charged untill the parts are shipped like most customers want. when part shows up the card wont go through even after 3 days of trying and calling the customer who has caller ID and wont take the call and now does not want the part. I think what needs to be done if part is not available for weeks then a deposit should be taken at time of order with the remainder at shipping time.
I ordered a camera from a mail order house they told me in order to get the advertised price they would charge my card in five minutes and I had to wait two weeks before they shipped my camera. Now thats running a business with other peoples money.

Once again I agree. If you order something and the company has to pay money to order it elsewhere then I feel the customer should pay up front.
The bottom line is "they told you" that they were going to charge you up front.

No, its wrong they should not be taking money from my account until they send the order, yes take a deposit, but not the full amount. I have to pay interest on the money he took off my credit card, so I would prefer to keep the money in my account and not his until the order is shipped.

In fact now I think about it more, the more im getting angry at the little clown shoe. Not once was I told that the waterbox was on back order, not until I phoned him 3 weeks later, he offered me no apology, he just brushed it off saying it would be there in a week. 2 weeks later still no goods. He does not even have the decency to let me know, whats happening with my order. All it takes is an email to let me know the score. That’s very bad customer service and it has lost him a customer.

Lets get real here for a minute.
If your in the business of shipping stuff all the time it takes 5 minutes to pack an item .You print a label and because you already have boxes and tape and bubble wrap or packing foam you put said item into box and fill with foam and tape stick on the label and your done .Even at $65 an hour that's $5 and some change more than actual shipping charges but so far everyting I've heard about Wammer is that he over charges for shipping ,but so doesn't Blowsion who charged a friend of mine $12 to ship a JK T shirt .

I've sold lots and lots of stuff on Ebay and here and PWC and it takes 5 minutes to pack an item unless it's crate a ski or a triple pipe box maybe a handlepole takes a few minutes longer but it shouldn't since shipping stuff is the norm and not too many people walk in and buy stuff to carry out .

HE SHOULD BE MORE HONEST AND COMMUNICATE BECAUSE
COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS:biggthumpup:

wow I love this game!!!
UPS or FedEx

They are just trying to make more money on the shipping… $1.50 is enough for handling fee!!! All the shops have special prices if they ship with UPS or FedEx.

I understand this concept, but that is totally different than taking 2 minutes to throw something in a box and ship it. he is doing somehting illegal, he is advertising his products at a low price (or same as others) but he is making more money because he charges so much for shipping. If people knew that his shipping was so high they would no be doing business with him! FALSE ADVERTISING!

shipping schmipping

no one needs to be thrown under the bus for a lousy ten bucks in shipping - especially Wamiltion himself.....dude, did you ever think of picking up the phone and calling Wammer or Rod and asking them about the shipping and any other possibilities...especially since you are only in Orlando, and uh, pretty much everything you buy online these days seems to cost $9.95 in shipping...don't blame wamilton's for that, take that up with UPS - the Wammer is NOT making money on shipping...he is one of the most chill, honest, and welcoming guys we have left in this niche fraternity of ours and I cannot stand to let him get thrown under the bus?!?!?!?! gents, we certainly have more important things to prioritze on our agendas then this - like continuing to fight and pray for Joe......and last I checked, the Caker could use a prayer too for some slightly roughed-up vertebrae....and there is that other issue in Jersey of lies, smoke and mirrors - anyway, the Wammer is not deserving of such criticism - this is a guy who opens his shop-door to everyone.

What do you think boxes ,tape, labels and time to package it costs .
Shipping AND handling .

Shipping costs are outrageous across the board and I've complained about it myself a few times but once you sell some stuff and have to ship it yourself you realize the time and money it takes to pull it off .

I shipped a hood from Mass to NY and it was $65 UPS packaged and shipped .I sold the hood for $165 shipped .I lost a 1/3 of my price to shipping and after Payapl $10 I made $90 on a brand new 07 SJ hood .

Oh ya go back to PWC Jeff
