wamiltons vs WCF hulls

I'm wanting to build a ski this winter and looking at these two hulls as options. I want something light and strong that will last many many years of riding. I ride all freshwater. I have a stock mint 99 sj now, that will be my donor. I"m wondering if the after market hulls are worth it and will increase my enjoyment in riding. I'm just looking to have fun free riding.

I would seriously look at WCF. His hulls take a beating and will suit your needs. He also has backflip versions that are shorter. Plus you can custom order them with your choice of gel coat color.

I'd look long and hard at XFT. The construction techniques are modern and therefore much lighter and just as strong. My freeride XFT hull weighs right at 60 lbs. WCF and Wammer are traditional hand laid fiberglass and are ok but not exactly state of the art. The XFT competes favorably price wise also. The only other hulls I'd even consider are Lightweight DE(big bucks) or Compositech(also big bucks).

XFTonline.com is there site. Sergio is alittle hard to understand but great to deal with. I ordered a top deck and hood from him and it will be here the first week of september. Ill let ya know how it looks.

how much weight does a aftermarket hoods if any save?

I can get a stock hull and have wamiltons do my holds, scupper and trim system and switch it all over and sell my stock hull... but the price is like 4400.. or like 3610 if I do the fiberglass and matt work myself... which I'm nervous about. thats why I was like well crap thats as much as a light weight hull. of course I would have to get hood and nose to make a complete ski.

not sure which way to go.

Wow, that XFT hull + hood setup is awesome! Not to mention their newer footholds an scupper are awesome.

I bought my Wammer boat used and it has been an awesome ski. I bought it from FLSuperjet (Derek) when he decided to get out of the sport. I didn't even test-ride it because I knew I didn't need to. Team Scream 5mm stroker and a lightweight hull...and I had bought a ski from Derek once before...


I had my WCF ski built custom and it has been an awesome ski as well. I am still doing some "fine-tuning" to the engine, pump, handlepole, etc. The hull is fine IMO, but I want a better hit off bottom, a lighter pump, and a shorter handlepole---all of which is in the works.

let's not forget legdrag's TKO hulls. i rode that thing at Daytona Freeride and it was SWEEEEEEEET... and those were just the 1st gen TKO's..

Kevin already has the new ones in stock with the removable hull extensions so you don't have to be stuck with just one length for your hull! :smile:

ride anywhere... any time... any conditions.. :smile:

beat me to it saki.. kevin's hulls are sweet, not to mention the superior service before and AFTER the sale. kevin stands behind everything he sells. talk to king tut here on this board, he's got the fist gen hull from him.
